20:09 history is going to remember Mitch McConnell as the man that opened the gates for all this mess. He’s proud of the fact that his actions shaped the Supreme Court and gave them, and Trump, all this power.

Leeja, I love your content. I truly appreciate it, and you've taught me a ton of things I didn't know and that seems obvious in retrospect. Such as the reason why undocumented immigrants are entitled to due process.

But we are the choir, and I already know Republicans are trying to take our rights away. That's why I'm here!

Keep doing what you're doing. But I'm not one of the people who needs to hear that I should be afraid. I want the facts. I would love to learn more about nuking the filibuster and how likely it is to happen, for example. I would like to know whether the SAVE act will hurt Democrats the way Republicans say it will. Aren't Trump voters low turnout? In taking away our freedoms, there's a possibility the Republicans score an own goal. I would love to know.

I'd certainly do hope that he thinks he's above signing things because if the Senate signed sent to his desk and he doesn't sign it it becomes law faster than he would think

Glad it passed.. I got my birth certificate the same day and it took about 20 min. You can register early to vote if its such a big deal and you feel like you'll run into hiccups. Excuses on top of excuses.

IF YOU DIDN'T SEE LEEJA'S EXPLANATION OF HER ADS, GO LOOK. They're on the episode about the possible death of American soft power, and they deserve some form of internet content award. She set a new standard for transparency and respect for her audience. Just had to say that.

And what happens when the Democrats are in charge again and they try to nuke the filibuster to pass laws to undo Trump's bullshit? Or use the president immunity the SCOTUS gave the president?

8:52 i feel like you're putting too much faith in the democrats (and opposition republicans) when the democrats have been very clearly strategically voting to pass bills with thin margins in order to protect themselves from taking the heat for unpopular legislation. the democrats are very obviously collaborators

The Filibuster should have been nuked long ago. People need to get what they vote for. Part of why Senate Republicans feel invincible is that nobody cares about their senator because the senate doesn’t pass legislation because of the filibuster. The only way to get people to care is to make the consequences of senate elections meaningful. If you vote for good policy, it should benefit you. And if you vote for bad policy, it should harm you.

Trump hasn't passed a single bill yet that helps Americans. Trump only cares about himself and how billionaires and corporations can financially fund his agenda. The Save Act will be the nail in the coffin of voters rights. Trump said if you elect me, there will be NO MORE ELECTIONS!

People being in favor of the SAVE Act reminds me of the same people who where so gung ho about doing away with Obama Care and Food Stamps only to realize they were benefiting from those very programs. They honestly thought their affordable care and SNAP programs were something different. I've heard people in favor of this bill and showing ID talking about how they were denied voting because they had moved and not updated their address. It feels like an out of body experience hearing someone talk about how showing ID requirements won't disenfranchise US Citizens while talking about how they, a US Citizen, with a constitutional right to vote were denied the right to vote because of ID requirements.

The ID part of the SAVE act has gotten so much attention, but really worrisome is the potential purging of voter rolls and doing away with absentee voting and drop boxes. I've been voting by mail for decades now. Even before my state switched to that system. I love it, it is fast, easy, and convenient. There is absolutely no reason to force people to go in person to vote on one day. People work, people are parents, people have obligations, and it's not like the SAVE act makes election day a National Holiday, or extends in person voting opportunities to accommodate scheduling conflicts.

In this end the SAVE act is purporting to solve a problem that doesn't exist, and already has systems in place to prevent.
