I just saw it today with the family, and It was a good movie everyone liked it. People are just very wierd when it comes to movies these days. I'm almost convinced folks feel they have to bash everything to feel special about themselves. If a movie is made about a comic. People get made if it's not a 1:1 and bash it if anything is remotely different, but if they make a live action from a cartoon. People get mad that it's too close to the original material… It's just a weird time to make movies based on anything.

First of all if you have kids you're probably hurting in your pocketbook if you're going to see this this is going to be on DVD or from one of the streaming devices.. and yeah because it's a remake nobody wants to see it..

Honestly it's refreshing to see movies like this underperforming at the box office. I have nothing against the Moana series. But it's such an unnecessary live action movie right now.
Let the movie sit, give it some nostalgia. The original movie came out like a decade ago.
Disney just wanted to cash in on the success of the animated movies and yes The Rock isn't "young" but I'm sure they wanted him cast while he was at least in his 50s.

There is an entire department at Disney that manages scheduling. Their whole job is to position the film for success. That shouldn’t be included in your video. To do so insinuates that Disney misjudged. They made a choice.

Live action remakes are just lazy corporate cash grabs, that's not to say some don't work. But already judging from the trailer I could this would be a fat L. Saberspark said it best with the how dull the colors are compared to the first and how just some animation and movements they make cannot be replicated in real life. And if it hasn't been said enough, the Rock is too old for that wig, and just doesn't work well with it at all, yikes.

I don´t mind remakes and I have no superhero fatigue. I want the MCU and Lucasfilm to step it up. I want to see AVATAR 4 and AVATAR 5, instead of any future MARVEL film after Avengers Doomsday.

I like the animated Moana, but I had no interest to see it Live Action. No one asked for this. I hope DISNEY stops doing Live Actions or focuses on the ones people asked for like Atlantis The Lost Empire or Frozen.

really hope disney will remake something that has a budget of $350million. then flop so badly so they don't have to do another live action remake again. I think they haven't learned their lesson yet: people dont love remakes.

It has a 91% audience score on RT. I watched the movie and had good time. It’s the same plot as the original so there is no way the movie won’t feel fun. People have started bashing big studio movies without watching them these days. That’s the real reason why it flopped.

Critics and viewers will negatively say that it's same or copycat like no originality as not a need for live action.
However, if it's different, much worse as not faithful to the original.
There is nothing wrong about live action film. We have box office hits such as Beauty and the Beast, Lilo and Stitch and etc.
Audiences have two options, either watch the original or live action for new experience.
I don't care if it's duplicate. I want to see both.
Unfortunately, Moana is not a need for live action especially it is still fresh. The animated film is not 10 years old yet especially the sequel was release on 2024.

This is an enjoyable film for a new generation. Telling the story of Moana in different forms is what makes it great. Just as stories of Grimm or Shakespeare are repeated hundreds of times in different forms throughout the years. At least give credit to the many talented artists and creators who work diligently in making the story exist.
