Absolutely diabolical song to give someone, considering it's one of the most peculiar and also iconic pieces of drumming ever. That considered, Chris actually did a great job, some parts worked really well ! Loved this episode 🙂

Having never heard that song either, I think Chris smashed that out the park! Tasty groove in there that complimented the feel, what’s not to like? Impressive af drummer, but knew that anyways off of Steezy

Great job for a drum part, that's nearly impossible to match, if you don't know the original.

Being a drummer myself, everytime I watch drumeo videos, I'm stunned, how different, creative and unique drum-setups can be.
Imagine being booked in with your band on a festival without the time to switch the drum kit between the sets of the different bands.
Sometimes that can be a nightmare, sometimes a creativity blast, but having to perform on an unfamiliar instrument always heightens the stage fright.
I’ve always compared it to what it would be like for pianists or guitarists if a few of the keys or strings they needed for a song were simply swapped out, removed, or repositioned elsewhere on the instrument. That wave of complaint…🤭
    Drummers a simply a different breed.💪🏻

Please when visiting the USA bring Lille Gruber (German drummer of the brutal death metal band Defeated Sanity) and let hi play some jazz or that 'Caravan' song. Also would be great to see any jazz drummer to play something very simple as d-beat (Discharge, Dischange, Disfear and so on). Love your channel, lads. Keep people inspired to play music

By the time he found the groove, the most obvious thing that doesn't fit is the tone of his drums. Such a snappy, loud, punchy sound which is obviously perfect for his style. It's impossible to ask metal drummers to play lightly. They look really confused.

I agree, this was a tough one for a metal drummer. It is obvious that the guy is technically a superb drummer. But this song asks for subtle, tasteful playing, while metal usually means full power, loud cymbals, and bass drum all over the place. I had been through this myself; being a fan of Lars for many years, I thought this was the mastery. Only later did I start to appreciate the greatness of players like Steve Gadd, while I still respect what metal drummers are capable of. I believe that to be a complete musician, one should have a wide knowledge of different genres and styles, even if you specialize in only one of them.
