I guarantee if the author of the books, Rick Riordan was involved with this movie, it would've been way better. I understand why he was super pissed off when they made these movies without him. My god this movie sounds terrible.

The whole 3 gem thing makes sense when you consider that these are kids who shouldnt be in this situation to begin with and so should be given some leeway for not thinking things all the way through.
And giving them a map of gems to get out of the Underworld stops them from being suspicious of who the real bad guy is.

Forget the book series, as someone who grew up with the myths I have to keep my eyes shut to so they don't roll out, I can understand making changes to suit a modern audience like turning characters who are warriors into comic book superheroes and leaving out all the incest, but like he mentioned Harry Potter, this was a souless cash grab, if it wasn't Greek mythology it could of just as easily been any other cultures myths
