We treat intelligence like it’s some kind of miracle. An unseen force that’s powerful enough to shape an entire life from behind the scenes. We assume that if you’re intelligent enough, the world should bend more easily in your favor. You should be able to resolve problems faster, make better choices much easier, and you should have your entire life figured out before the first time any adult ever even gets the chance to ask “what do you want to be when you group up?”

But this belief that intelligence is some form of protection from the hardships of life only exists because of survivor’s guilt. We hear from the most successful intelligent people and assume that that’s the case for everyone, when in reality, nothing could be further from the truth.

What's the difference between this and anxiety? Because you've described my internal world so freakishly accurately and I have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder!

I have the problem of always doubting myself because I see or try too see all possible outcomes and I often change my mind, if not at the time, maybe down the road. Because I always got the comment from others that I tend to overthink stuff.

Opens with difficulties of high iq, drifts into a grift for a magic bullet to ease the high iq mind (but 2 months free!), supposes cluster b traits have crossover into iq domain, studied vocal cadence for engagement, supposes the viewer is high iq, supposes lower iq have less burden and on and on. That’s what my pattern inference is picking up. The bottom line is whether or not you have a personality deficit or mental disorder. Given the statistics you likely do – I’d bet that over high iq lol

Interesting question. I was recently reading a book called Outsmarted: The Hidden Costs of Being the Smartest Person in the Room, and one of its arguments was that intelligence itself isn't what makes people unhappy. It's when your identity becomes built around being "the smart one". That can lead to perfectionism, overthinking, isolation, difficulty relating to others, and the feeling that your worth depends on constantly performing. Intelligence can be a gift, but without belonging, purpose, and healthy relationships, it doesn't automatically translate into happiness. Read that book. It is surprisingly relatable and thought-provoking.

This comes with wisdom as you get older combined with photographic memory where you remember everything and can replay everything like a movie and only when you are older you start to understand and use your ability.

High IQ problems? Hard pass. If something goes wrong in my life, it’s either bad luck or God’s will. I’d rather live happily ignorant than overthink everything into depression. Ignorance is underrated 😂

How to overcome this because my brain is constantly thinking of drifting and keeping my focus in real life and observing conversation and thought and this is an impossible loop to get out of

This is happening to me what do I do also my environment and exposure is so different that things I know things may get out of hand very much and lead to bad outcomes in the future as my parents are gonna force me to go back to my village where education is forced into ur brain and it’s torture

I analyze all this before and got to the conclusion that a good short term solution for this issue is shutting down the mind, not with alternatives like alcohol but instead comedy. The part of my brain that ruminates shuts down when I laugh, i am trying to learn more about this system, just try it out. Obviously we are all are and behave based on chemical reactions so medication can also solve the issue but it will create problems of its own

I wish if I had someone to talk in that Topic. Like I can't relate to anyone I have currently here.
I don't consider myself intelligent at all , but the problems you've mentioned in this video is something I already feel.

    I don't know if there's a word to describe Philosophical loneliness…

I don’t think im smart. But I do the hyper analysis of just about everything. I get told I over analyze things too much. But I’m not smart. So I don’t think this is true

At some point of my life, I just started smoking weed because I couldnt take it anymore, I wanted to become dumper, but all I did is destroyed my sleep and made my memory a bit worse, so I quited after a year realising that I actually should use my head to do things instead of cope being high. I relate to majority of the things that were said in this video, but I still doubt these statements and my own intelligence. I can never call myseld smart, however other people do for some reason.

High IQ is a gift? Only if you fit into the stereotype of the desirable person, for that particular ecological niche.

Most high-IQ children are involuntary and born into an environment that does not want or understand other levels of existence. EAT, SLEEP, BREED. As defined by Charles Darwin, etc.

Every intelligent creature has three foundations. PHYSIOLOGICAL (chemical stability), NETWORKING (internal and external), and then COGNITIVE (internal and external).

Elon Musk and many others do not consider high IQ as a desirable "gift". Those of us with high IQs find overall life to be positive. You mentioned: Socrates, Galileo, etc. The high IQs are statistically extremely unusual. Similar to the ultra-short, ultra-tall, ultra-ugly, etc. Insects that create these statistical exceptions do not tolerate, do not understand such extremes.

You mention EMPATHY. Most people (babies, children, adults) do not know or understand this. This audio has three or six levels of discussion: EXISTENCE, NETWORKING, and CONDITION. These are not the restrictions of only white males living in the USA.

'Late at night, when I tell myself I'm just going to check something quickly… – and then an hour has passed…' sounds like the story of my nights.

It get's only worse with age, because if you lay down, and your mind is exploring several rabbit-holes into the past and possibilities for the future, you discover something half remembered, unclear or unknown. Of course this demands knowledge at once, so you go checking for it. Suddenly while you search for different aspects of the thing that has been unknown or unsure, your screen gets hard to read, and you notice that's the fault of the sun rising behind your back.

And the worst thing is: The different aspects of your mind are buisy working down a problem, and somebody coming up with 'Good morning, how have you slept?'

An irritating, completely meaningless conversation, when your potential answer could only be: What is sleep? I was trying to work out if the emission of methane from thawing permafrost can be absorbed fast enough in the different sinks, and where the absorbable thresholds are. What do you mean with 'good morning'? Can't you see we're sitting on a big heep of dung? I have not yet figured out the maths, and you desturb my thinking, and this is an emergency, because my fallible maths tell me plus 50C in 50 years. There is a huge problem I need to solve, and unless you know how to capture and absorb methane faster, you're not being helpful, so abstract yourself!

And because the truth is not popular, you exaust yourself with: 'I slept wonderfully, thank you for your concern, Yes, you're right, what a fine morning – while in truth you wonder about divorce.

Part of the problem is that so many people have inaccurate or incomplete understanding of Reality and some will even get angry if you try to correct them.

It is half-a-century after the Moon Landing.

How anyone could not figure out Planned Obsolescence in automobiles is beyond my understanding. But try to tell someone that you do not want to hear them talk about their brand new piece of shit and see what happens.

So you sit and listen and pretend to care because in the long run that creates much fewer problems.

For me, thinking about intelligence is like crawling down a hole no one else seems to understand and trying to make your own path knowing there's going to be no end to the dirt. Trust me, I've tried to give myself that satisfaction, but I found that no matter how many different ways I tried, it never stops.
