More Americans Are Realizing How Bad It’s Really Getting

A Homestead Journey | June 18, 2026

This is a compilation of how More Americans Are Realizing How Bad It’s Really Getting as the cost of living crisis, inflation, housing affordability, grocery prices, and economic uncertainty continue to impact everyday life. More Americans are realizing how bad it’s really getting as wages struggle to keep up with rising expenses and many families feel they can no longer get ahead. In this video, we discuss the growing financial pressure facing Americans, the shrinking middle class, consumer debt, burnout, the job market, and why so many people believe the American Dream is slipping away. Is this just a difficult period, or are we witnessing a larger shift in America?

🟪 I want to ask a few questions of some of these people who are complaining:
Do you own a $1200 iPhone?
Is your flat screen TV larger than 32 inches?
Does your vehicle have 50, 40, or 30 series tires?
Do you have highlights dyed into your hair or get your nails done more than once every two months?
Are you paying thousands of dollars every month to have someone else look after your children?
Do you buy coffee daily from Starbucks or a similar coffee shop?
Do you have cable or streaming television service?
Do you have more than one pet?
How many times per week do you obtain your lunch from a fast food restaurant?
Do you own more than five pairs of shoes?
Do you own more than one belt, even though you have just one waist?
Do you pay to have someone else deliver food to your home?
Do you have more than $1,000 of credit card debt?
What is the amount of your student loan debt to the nearest $1000?
Are you paying for any subscription services tied to your vehicle?
If an emergency was to arise, do you have $1,000 stashed away to cover the cost?
If you own a large SUV, does anyone other than you occupy the vehicle at least 5 days per week?

(I could go on and on and on… I hope you are wearing your thinking cap, and are able to pick up on what I'm trying to get at, here…)

This are how we in NORWAY have had it the last 5-8 years… Welcome to the cirkus clown world.
We still have mostly non-toxic food, fortunately. But at some prices. Absolutely insane.

Gasoline costs us $2.53 per liter for us living countryside and need use cars…
    Diesel. $2,78 per liter.

    1 loaf of bread. $6.85

    Cheese. $16.87 per Kilo
    1 red bell pepper 212 grams $2.23

    1 Yogurt 500 grams… $3.27

    Potato salad 500 grams $5.17

1 pack 480 grams with 6 pcs Cheese Grill sausages $5.17
    Milk. $2.74 per liter

    12pk Eggs. $6.85
Meat. $12.66 and up to $20 per Kilo.
Fish in general per Kilo $10.44 and up to $20

    1 piece of chocolate 200 Grams. $5.48
    Snickers chocolate 75 grams $3.43
1 bag Potato chips snacks 180-200 Grams. $4.43
Fanta lemon soda 1.5 liters $4.63

    Charcoal 2.5 kilos $8.33

All this started to take off after the first corona epidemic. They said it was difficult to get food so they had to raise food prices during this period. But that prices would fall back down afterwards. What we have seen is that everything just keeps going up.
This are only the basic prices i have listed here what people need weekly.

Until people gather and get sick and tried and ready to physically take back our country, things wont change. Voting for change is not going to change this at this point.

My husband is "crashing". He works his a** off and we are getting nowhere. He is tired and angry and depressed all at once. He's ready to "give up"..hopefully that's the worst that could happen. I don't know what to do 😭

I'm struggling to cope with the end of my five-year relationship. Despite my best efforts, I haven't been able to win him back, and the pain of his absence is overwhelming.

I can't believe the creativity some of these people have! Id be terrified of getting caught! I would not be filming because people may recognize the facility. These people are much stronger than I. I have been there but was fortunate enough to stay wherever I could and once a week I stayed in a motel if I could afford it. I had never felt so desperate, alone depressed. Family would have helped but I never told them.

sounds like a good time for a GENERAL STRIKE. go look up the history of strikes before you say it won't work. it's the best way to make a difference. which means organizing ahead of time and there are people already doing that!

data centers, the priority. They need us to be pissed off, broke, and complaining. When we have had enough, they expect us to jump right in for their beast system, which leads to the mark. Some would jump for the UBI Musk has been prominsing. Digital ID is here, cash is on the way out. Get your spiritual house in order. This has been the plan for a very, very, long time. The stimulus checks during covid was the start to get the younger folk on board.

    Eat the rich.
Totally disagree- this is all because of Trump and Covid. I learned he would be worse the second go around.
    I prepared.
    Pantry Preparedness is Resistance. Period.
    I have control.
