Appalachia meets Ireland, DUG plays “Cumberland Gap” in the shadow of a castle.
In the heart of Ireland again for a tune with DUG, the band. We started off in Dublin, and jumped in the tour van down to the loveliest of places, Cork, for a series of shows. Always something interesting to see along the way in Ireland, and this time we stopped at the Rock of Dunamase. From the Wikipedia article, “it has the ruins of Dunamase Castle, a defensive stronghold dating from the early Hiberno-Norman period”. History at every turn. We’re simply folks though; when we see cows, we approach.
Naturally, the bovine crowd is attracted by the lovely sound of the tin whistle. With our audience assembled, the lads starting rocking that Appalachian classic, “Cumberland Gap”, in their own high energy, singalong style we’ve come to love.

Amazing! Cows love music, Farmers in Ireland would often talk to their cattle / cows and sing songs with them to calm them down. Nice work!

Love this one… Cumberland Gap has so many different versions and every one is a treat. (it's one of the few 'oldtime' numbers I've snuck into our setlist)
