Consumer confidence is responsible for spending and not saving, just no and FU, Besant. We spend more because prices keep rising, inflation is the cause….hamburger costs as much or more now than steaks were two years ago, not great cuts of steak either but round or chuck steaks, which are now regularly costing what used to be sirloin prices. Oh, and most folks even those making somewhat decent money( 50-60k a year) now live paycheck to paycheck the numbers are staggering it's probably close too 60% or more of the US population.
