Try to look at it this way. Everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen, is meant to happen. This is a fatalisic perspective and has helped me immensely. It's all predetermined and all we can do is navigate and try to adapt the best we can.

I have a couple of problems with it.
First: Very small genetic diversity.
Second: It's not really a utopia and more like a prison. Mice also need space and stimulants. In a way, it might be as valuable as the whole "alpha male" thing in wolves (It was observed in captivity)
Third: Mice's reproduction strategy is very different from ours.
We do have social problems, and we have to deal with these problems. But this experiment barely tells us anything.

Nature's primary directive is balance. The more a species or population is pushed out of balance with their environment, the more unnatural they become in reaction to it.
People are arguing about whether it was population density, a lack of purpose, confinement, or something else that caused those mice to decline. I think it was all of the above, I think it's too complicated to be caused by just one thing.
Everything in life forms an intricate web of connection. When you pull a string on one side that slack will get taken from many other locations – often spots that we didn't expect. And when you cut a line, the entire area goes loose and gets tangled. Everything matters, every little thing can send vibrations through the lines.
