Seriously,I had to go back again and watch it a second time as for 2 weeks after seeing it the first time I was like, "What was the story again?". Today I can now happily say that going back let me progress into now having the question: "What was the story again?"

I just watched it and it wasn't that bad, I couldn't see why people hated it so much, it had some promise…until a little before the halfway point, where it just became a downhill rollercoaster of cruising through references at the speed of sound without stopping to mean anything and glossing over the final fight. Here's the exact powerups you need ok fight over everything solved deus ex machina the entire planet now but you still have to rebuild a castle from scratch.
Also I never played Galaxy so I don't know how different the plot is from this. I know the little star crystals you collect meant something in there but here they were just a reference.
Also no JB song.

If I were Nintendo fan, I think I'd be offended by how little Nintendo thought of me. But then I'd soil my nappy, and after that I'd need my baabaa, and by then I'd probably have forgotten the entire thing.

This Pitch Meeting is 100% correct and it was definitely a big inconvenience to pay a lot for the movie in which this Pitch Meeting is 100% correct about. In my opinion, the first movie was easily at least a 9.0 if not higher. The second movie perhaps a 6.0. At best. What a terrible waste of potential.

God the state of animation really is soul crushingly depressing….Remember when there were family movies instead of just "kid" movies meant to distract and dazzle children with bright colors and quick action and simple jokes.
Mario has all the potential to make a good narrative out of its characters and paper thin plots. Instead we just get this Brave New World style feely slop.

This movie was incredible, definitely love seeing Fox Mccloud in it, I also love that they even included references to the old Nintendo products like Rob for the Super Nintendo. 👍
