Well, luckily there are no homeless people, starving children, or hard-working people who can't afford medical care in the world today who could have been helped by the money that Zuckerberg threw away on a childish vanity project.

Big tech is spending over $1tn plus on AI CAPEX over the next few years, it’s pretty clear Metaverse is just a cover for spending hundreds of billions on computer infrastructure to enable mass surveillance to support government overreach. NOBODY spends trillions outside of governments.

I'm in meetings all the time, and if someone tried to wear those glasses, I would ask that they take them off. Otherwise I would leave. More importantly, it really does seem like these times are being defined by some of the least competent people alive. Where are all the smart people?

Meta's massive metaverse investments have in reality been mostly poured into hardware. As a result, Meta’s metaverse business is essentially synonymous with its hardware business.
In the beginning, the company was heavily biased toward first-party content (such as Zuckerberg’s own virtual spaces and VR games from its in-house studios), which was a major cause of the losses. However, after suffering huge deficits, it has now shifted toward a more realistic, demand-driven approach centered on third-party VR content from other companies.
This is the real story behind the so-called “Meta’s withdrawal from the metaverse.”
Meanwhile, active users of Meta’s VR headsets have been growing steadily year after year, primarily in North America, and reached a record high in 2025.

When I worked at meta, all of Zuch's cronies/directors of engineering were shutting down actual good ideas and other engineers who had the actual solutions. He could literally have a finalized product and working world, but all his employees just play politics. They simply want to syphon his funds and want to collect a paycheck.

I find it amazing how completely unaware the CEOs of these companies are. They steal the first idea. They buy or steal other's work or idea and when they are rich enough. They say I'm going to show the world how smart I truly am and yes they do don't they(:-)

I thought Mark was a genius, but then I found out he just stole Facebook's idea and now he's trying to come up with his own ideas cause there's no one else he could steal from, but he's so out of touch of normie society he doesn't know what we actually wants.

I don't know if this is like a phobia thing or what but I don't like putting on the headset and being cut off from reality. It kind of freaks me out. I bought my headset from a friend for like 50 bucks and used it for about an hour and now it's stuffed in a drawer somewhere. My experience is probably not unique.

They made so many of the best VR games in the beggining making us believe that the VR is here. I use VR almost everyday, I play games and watch 3d videos and I only use it seated so it's not so tiring. Then meta betrayed everyone by focusing only on shitty Quest headset and then killing many of the best VR companies. Without modders who mod flat games to VR whole VR would be death.

zuck is like any CEO. Meaning, besides being a piece of shit, he can never admit having been wrong about anything, especially a business idea. So he'll keep wasting money on his stupid VR chat until he finds a way to force it on people or else he'll wind down spending progressively hoping people forget about it, and will never talk about it again.

i heavily dislike Zuck and I’m sure meta steals private data, but I will say this: I got a quest3 last month, and it’s instantly made my brand new ipad feel like 1980s tech. What you do with it is another story, but even without the metaverse, VR is not going away anytime soon, and Apple has missed the bus and is waaay overpriced.

Let's not forget it's basically a subsidized headset that plugs directly into steamvr where you can play actually demanding games that runs on your GPU not a literal mobile processor. And yeah they better drop the quest 4 soon, because valve might just beat meta at their own game

You just know Zuckerberg got super-excited when someone told him about the idea of glasses that "zoom in and take pictures at clubs".

Had this video randomly recommended and gave it a try, then almost immediately clicked away when an AI ad read started. Sorry mate, but that shit sucks, and the last thing we need is more vibe coded websites 😕
