In the 2010's I wrote online articles for a feminist website about great women of history, including articles on Hedy Lamarr and Ada Lovelace. Ada Lovelace was taught by Charles Babbage how to write a program and then she did the work for the Analytical Engine. Sadly, the truth is not as wonderful as I'd like: she didn't "invent" computer programming, Babbage did. Many "reworked" accounts suggest she invented programming, but if you stop and think about it, that would require that Babbage invented a machine without any idea how it would work, which is ridiculous.

Great video; but 8:05!! I haven’t even thought about Babages since I was buying my Basic language programming magazines for my Commodore 64. What’s cooler than spending hours copying code from a magazine so you can watch a sprite bounce across the screen.

What about Tom Scholz from the band Boston, he has an Electrical Engineering dregree from MIT and was a design engineer at Polaroid. He also basicly produced Bostons 1976 best-selling debut album in his basement.

Yes, celebrities are expected to be smart; even rappers and hip hop artists. These label companies are very much like book publishing companies, celebrities express realism, truth, philosophy, science, etc, in their music and movies.

Few other genius level celebrities that are oft forgotten are and I suggest you take a look at their bio:

    • Marty Friedman (formerly from Megadeth)
    • The whole cast of Monty Python
    • David Duchovny (Mulder from X-files
    • Dolph Lundgren (Ivan Drogo from Rocky IV)
    • George Carlin aka the Professor (a stand up comedian)
    • Geena Davis (from Thelma & Louise)
    • Conan O'Brien

Subscriber here, but I still find myself overlooking some of your more recent videos. I passed up Lisa Kudrow and the title many times before realizing it was your video. Watching now, but not interested before. Just FYI.

Polymaths (individuals with advances knowledge across multiple fields) are rare in arts .

But i think its equally vital if we have someone who is able to explain the world to people.

David Attenborough is 100 years old today. He has had 2 careers one as a producer and manager in the TV industry- he was the first chief administrator of the then new BBC2 TV channel in the 1960s but then he was asked to present Natural history in front of the camera….and he is still doing presenting this because he is passionate about the natural world

The world has been richer place to us all because of him ( fun fact….he also has a brother who acted in films and won an oscar as a director – Richard Attenborough for Ghandi……it makes you annoyed that there is so much talent that it must be genetic in their familly! )

Speaking of Pretty Fly for a White Guy, the white guy in the music video is now a political streamer, with the username ImReallyImportant, he's equally as fly as he was in the 90s and is dope as fuck. Highly recommended. He also still tours with the Offspring.
