Friends I never stopped reviewing movies, just posted a movie review a few days ago. I just took the makeup part away but that was about a year ago now. Don’t panic!

There's inspiration then there is straight up copying. The one who copies EVERYTHING someone does, frame for frame. That is where it stops becoming art and starts becoming blatant plagiarism. We've all written papers on certain subject so they are bound to be similar but the one who word for word copies someone is an AH.

There was a fascinating Crash Course video recently about archetypes in ancient religion / mythology; the same archetypes of gods and goddesses appear in most ancient societies (father god, great mother goddess, for example). Humans have been having same-same-but-different ideas for thousands of years. Having similar inspirations for art feels the same-same-but-different to those ancient archetypes, to me 😊

I follow you, Kris, and Bailey. I'm binging you currently. You bring me joy and let me cackle at tween movies the same way Red letter media has me cackle about all-around terrible movies. I adore you!

The Trisha videos are what introduced me to u lol. I used to watch her frequently bc she's such a character and for a long time I thought her whole persona was a bit….unfortunately it's not lol

back in 2007 we named our friends blow up doll Tammy (UN USED blow up doll we got her as a joke for him), we called her trashy tammy but we voiced her as a hillbilly bcuz we were in kentucky. if we had IG back then we wouldve had an IG for her lol.

It's all middle school mentality. "This color is my favorite, but it can't also be your favorite. You can't copy me, you have to have a different favorite." Like the concept that people can have the same idea and both do it in their own way just doesn't exist. Also, say you did specifically copy another creator's idea and made your own vid that was similar to theirs, so what? It doesn't actually harm that creator, you're not profiting off of their hard work, you put your own work in. It is completely different from someone just straight up ripping a video and reposting it as their own- not to mention having the audacity to do a copyright claim on the ORIGINAL. THAT does real harm, THAT is what people should be putting their effort into shutting down. These vicious commenters are just juvenile pieces of shit that lack pre-frontal cortex growth. I know this comment is two years late but like… this is my first time seeing it and as a professional artist (illustrator and comic artist), it is something I see a lot of. And it's exhausting having to educate those people when they get into a frenzy over literally nothing.

If you like to read, I suggest Carl Jung Collective unconscious. After reading it you may feel better about not worrying that none of us are original and we never have been.
Also, just take into consideration that all of those commenters complaining about you copying other people don't actually have their own content because they're not talented enough to do it. Misery Loves Company.
