what i would have told myself

1: just because someone are wrong does not mean its worth explaining that to them

2: you do not need to convince people you are yourself. your existence will prove itself in time

3: love and respect are not the same thing. love is not enough to make any relationship work

4: say anything about yourself too many times and it will become true, positive or negative

5: only difference between a skilled student and a young professional is what you call yourself… and maybe a blazer

6: just because someone is honest about their flaws does not mean they’re working to change them

7: regardless of how bad you fuck it up, things will keep moving forward. the time will pass anyway.

8: bosses care more about enthusiasm than they do experience. apply for jobs you’re not qualified for.

9: growing up is like a hot bath in winter. first it burns, then it feels just right. let it soak in before freaking out

10: its not that you’re ugly. its that they’re scared.

    Advice for 10 years ago…hmmm.
    Get it in writing
Ask yourself if you'd Ever Dream of treating anyone that way
Other people's happiness, etc is not your responsibility
    You're gonna wish you'd established a Yoga/exercise regime
    Get those "basics" established, too
Yes you Can. Be proactive, find resources.
Don't make the kitchen green. It's a pain to find stuff@ decent prices.

You didn't do it yet…but you can start now (aside from the kitchen).

It's been 10 years since I first watched this and the advice was, You aren't a disappointment, you are you, and that's it, you can't be a disappointment because you are you, whatever that you is.

And I would have found the advice useless because it's a thought that I feel but I can't yet express for others, even if the other is me.

11 years later, I can't think of anything to tell myself from 10 years ago that would make today better other than 'run away and don't look back'. But if I would have done that 10 years ago, everyone but me that I care about most would be much worse off. We're all in this together.

Ten years ago i would have told myself to invest in Netflix, jkjk. Idk exactly, but I would wanna tell myself that I'm stronger and better than I've ever known, which is tough cuz ten years ago I knew that and even today I know that, and even if me from ten years from now told me that I don't think it would really change anything. Cuz even though I know that I feel lost and scared, I feel with out time when I have all the time in the world and I feel of wasted potential when I know its never too late to start. I just know I'm not right where I wanna be and I have an idea of where I want to be but I don't know how to get there. And going out on a limb to try and find out how is scary. And all at the same time I know I'm right where I should be which just fucks my brain and makes it all seem pointless. I wish best of luck to all of you out there, partially cuz I feel I need it too and partially cuz I genuinely hope others can find themselves too.

    What advice would I tell my 15 year-old self? I'm now 50.

    "Too much efficiency isn't."
"Safety is an end, not a means."
"If it's a stupid idea and it works, it wasn't a stupid idea."
"In school, government, causes, friends, and love, loyalty must go in both directions."
"Learning about history gets a lot more fun when you've lived through some history yourself. When the new young adults in society have never heard of the bands which everyone in your hometown danced to at your prom, that's when history classes are much easier and enjoyable to absorb."
"You and your entire class back in junior high were wrong about musicians. It turns out that Boy George was straight, but George Michael wasn't."
"After all the heated and/or well-researched discussions about the best type of government, people will still follow whichever government can feed their family. All that talk about liberty and slavery and abortion goes out the window when the kids are outgrowing their shoes for the third time this year."
"Eventually, you'll really like the taste of broccoli, cauliflower, and even tomatoes. Brussels sprouts in your mouth, however, will fall to the same level as lead paint chips, starvation, or cannibalism."
"Regardless of the exact details of your future's ups and downs and plateaus, you'll actually do fine and will figure out each these tips on your own without your future self's help."

I needed to be told: Don't take the psych drugs… (they change you permanently, making depression chronic!) Don't take the psych diag-nonsense either. I am not "bipolar", I had distress and suffering.

The link to the PDF wasn't working when I came across this video in 2020, so I decided to sit down and create a PDF for myself. –If there is one thing I've learned from Ze, it has been the desire to share things with the world.
Is there somewhere I could upload the PDF I made so that others could use it?

9 out of 10 of men you have ever met in your life will rape you, molest you, assault you, or verbally assault you. Including family. Run far far away.

If I could go back in time and warn myself to avoid the bad things I got myself into, I wouldn't be where I am today. I wouldn't have the family I have, the experiences I've been through, the one I love and live me back.

Grown up when you're 8: your parents, your teachers, the lunch lady, but not siblings
Grown up when you're 30: anyone who's got their shit together, NOT THOSE WHO PRETEND!!

You just asked the lowest note on the guitar what song you should play… of course it's going to say a song with only its note, because that's the only one it knows. But when you examine the other strings and their notes, experience the different vibrations and harmonic/unharmonic variables, you quickly realize that just because an answer is popular, does not mean it's right. If you're sinking in quicksand, you don't ask the quicksand what you should do!
"What is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right."
"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."
    Both quotes by Albert Einstein

I'm just going to answer like these are new: You for got that we "Stand on the shoulders of giants". We don't have to start each generation from the very beginning, what we do can have a very real, and positive, impact on the future. I hope this helps.
