'So, do you have a tv show right now?' Fred, how did you not respond with, ' yeah, its on Hulu, in its 2nd season!'??? Love both of you for your talent and humility

Neil is super witty. Fred is legit comedy genius. Fred consistently succeeds at anything he does.

My favorite thing ever lol the RANT on musicals YES.
It's interesting, watching this talk, because Neal is the brain (logical) and Fred is the gut (intuitive) and if Amy Poehler were there she'd be the heart (joy). They use their individual avenues into comedy genius. Goes to show there are many ways into greatness.

Or you can carry mugging money. So you don't get killed. I believe it is required in Chicago

I think you guys are funny, and it's fun to hear all the insides of people who have been doing this for decades, but it does come across as highly cynical. So much ego and incest. Like, like, like…

I listened to the audio version first, and then watched it all again here. Without video sometimes itβs annoying when Neal is searching for words and wonβt finish a sentence, but I knew it would be fine in video. And itβs even better already knowing what they said but watching their faces (and the cuts) as they say it again.
As always, really insightful interview. Learning more about where Fred is coming from in his work, now I can appreciate it so much more.

You love America? You don't have to HATE it. But LOVE? Hm… Is it the cars and parking lots or maybe the cars and parking lots? Or maybe it's the street parking and all the traffic? Maybe it's the highways? Can't be the people and the culture.
The relatively small fraction of America that isn't paved over and has a parking lot built on it and the endless shopping centers and developments and the fact that everything is an interconnected road with a barrage of noise where you can't hear yourself think unless you're insulated in a giant death box.
