Red Hoop Talk EP 102: Mike Duncan, Round Valley Indian Tribes

Mike Duncan is a citizen of Round Valley Indian Tribes and his Native heritage is Maidu/ Wailaki / Wintun and Western Band Shoshone. Mike is the CEO and founder of Native Dads Network, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the Native family structure through culture, education, and inter-generational healing. For over 15 years, Mike has facilitated the “Fatherhood/Motherhood is Sacred” curriculum with great success and has helped create a network of Fatherhood/Motherhood groups in Northern California. Also in this time, he has worked in urban and rural Native Nations conducting workshops discussing topics such as – Fatherhood/Motherhood Is Sacred, Historical Trauma, Cultural Competency and Healthy Relationships. He has used these topics and personal stories to help participants look at barriers and to encourage traditional teaching as solutions.
