my aunt's husband is english, he tried taking the test and he failed massively. he said some of the stuff on there like the cultural stuff was from his parent's generation that most people won't know . it's kinda funny that a non-native british person might end up knowing more about britain than someone born there 🤣🤣

7:10 actually yeah, in the actual citizenship test if you get that one (or any of a couple other very basic human rights type ones like "Is free speech good" and "is domestic violence bad") you do fail immediately. You can get a couple of the ones like "who's the head of state" wrong and still pass.
But yeah, you do get given a booklet to study that has all the information and it is pretty easy, it seemed to me (I became an Australian citizen about a year ago) like it's mainly just checking if you understand the basic stuff about how the government you're now going to be able to vote on works.
Also re: Charles, he's technically our head of state but like, nobody really cares and the title is pretty much meaningless. He does pick the Governor-General who can step in if our parliament gets so dysfunctional it's basically useless but otherwise most of us don't even remember the king exists 99% of the time.

Actually Canberra was a compromise situation when deciding a new capital of Australia and Sydney abd Melbourne both felt like obvious choices as the most large and significant cities in southern australia as well as capitaks of both their respective provinces so they built a new administrative center between them

9:50 Sigh, that's a "Toronto accent" and we are ashamed of it. There is a large Caribbean/Jamaican population in Toronto, so the accent rubbed off a bit, but I'll level with you. They fake that accent because they think it sounds cool and tough. All the rest of Canada hates Toronto, but EVERYTHING happens there, so you need to go there sometimes, unfortunately.

About the "service" answer for Canada, jobs are classified as primary, secondary, and tertiary, where Primary Industry is harvesting natural resources, Secondary is manufacturing, and Tertiary, (used interchangeably with "service industry") encompasses literally everything that isn't logging, oil drilling, or factory work. It's a heavily skewed definition.
Also, regarding the head tax, we used to be really, really shitty, and super racist. We acknowledge it, we record it and take responsibility as best as possible, and make ongoing efforts to be and do better. It's probably the most important thing about being Canadian: not lying about who we are and where we came from.

I knew the rose was associated with England because there is Yugioh Duelist of the Roses is based on The War of the Roses between the House of Lancaster (whose emblem was the red rose) and the House of York (emblem was a white rose). It's a stupid reason to know something, but them's the breaks.
