R.i.p. Ozzy. My first lp was Paranoid. I saw Sabbath for the Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath tour. Sabbath was part of the soundtrack of my life. Farewell our Prince of Darkness. You are missed, but your music lives on. I am completely sure he knew he was close to dying, and was telling us goodbye.

You know what? Billy makes for an interesting rock star. He has some brash opinions and questionable logic, but he actually carries that torch of the arrogant rocker in a strangely endearing way. He basically combined shoegaze with Sabbath heaviness, he's a real fan. I don't always like his music or his statements, but I find him interesting.

The Ozzy we think we know was actually a gestalt entity composed of Ozzy and Sharon. He was only able to be the Ozzy we know because of her.
Without Sharon there would have been no Ozzfest. Ozzy had the heart to be a mentor and trailblazer for so many bands that we all love, but it was Sharon who empowered him to do and accomplish what he did. Indeed, Ozzy would have OD'd in a Hollywood hotel if it weren't for Sharon. She literally saved his life, so he could save Rock and Roll.
Words cannot express what we all owe these two.
I hope Thelma has found peace and can forgive Ozzy. He has apologized and taken accountability.

I’ve never gotten emotional over the passing of someone I never personally knew, but this time is totally different, ozzys death brought back so many wonderful memories of times long past with friends who are no longer with us listening to sabbath and ozzys music and going to see ozzy in concert, times and memories I will cherish forever, RIP LEGEND, FLY HIGH….

Wow, would never have guessed an alternative rock icon would have such a profound understanding of what BS and Ozzy’s contribution to our lives means. Respect.

Couldnt go to the event, really wish I could have.
I understand what he means with the 'our band' and the whole idea of getting excited.
Saw clips of LOG playing at the event. Watched them live back in 2008 when touring with Killswtich, during the Killswitch Cabaret Tour (may be wrong on the year – still have the ticket but too lazy to go check)
Same types of energy. Even when Howard had to go back and puke (it was at that sad point of time) , while we all sang with Killswitch. There was loyalty to the band.
We didnt get pissed that Herman was being unprofessional, we just helped the show go on.

Making this an annual event would perhaps be a great boon to Sharon, as it would busy her with keeping Ozzy's legacy and memory alive. She would feel better doing it, I'd bet.

I think why it hits is the world changed when their music came out. Conditions haven’t changed but the variables in play are more modern. It speaks over generations, especially in a world that has so many dark undertones, it’s the people that bring light. Sabbath is that. Creators of doom metal, absolute legends in both artistry and sonic achievement.

Wow! Billy really encapsulates what it is to be a fan of music in general, not just Ozzy and or Sabbath. Brilliantly stated!
