I’ll Fight You, If You Disagree With Me

Justin Hawkins Rides Again | February 19, 2026

Today I’m talking about The Smiths and more specifically their song “The Queen Is Dead”. As I was reacting to this I remembered how much I love Morrissey as a vocalist and lyricist (regardless him as a personality.) I can now safely say, that if you challenge me after watching this that I’m wrong…I will fight you. Please, make use of the comments below to state your feelings.

This album was ranked as the Greatest album of the 80's and I think at one point in the top 10 of all time. Until OK, Computer destroyed all those rankings šŸ˜‚

No fighting involved. I will share with you, My Darlin' Justin that My Love for My Lordy Lord Lord Christ Jesus SuperSteVer All'ah Mighty Morrissey is over the top. It has been since I met him in september of nineteen eighty six & it continued when, in December of 1986 I was the Girlfriend In A Coma and I woke from the coma on Christmas Day 1986.

He's still producing some fantastic work. To anyone who doubts my claim, no I'm not offering to fight you on a beach, but recommending you check out "Once I Saw the River Clean". It references "Metal Guru", so that makes it a winner straight out of the gate.

The Smiths are legend. I agree with JH. No matter if Morrissey is a difficult person to work with, what they created was astonishing and remains timeless for me. Johnny Marr is one of the best and the rhythm section was highly underrated. RIP Andy Rourke!

An absolute monster of a track to open the album. Only bettered by Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others to close it out. For me, that song remains Johnny Marr's best work, those multi-layered guitar tracks, sublime.
