The fact that 80s nostalgia hit within within like 5 years where mullets and dnd came back in fashion, maybe still in slightly niche sub cultres but like still a massive boom in popularity makes Todd's comment about them being corny thing for macklemore to sing out weirdly accurate with the rise of people actually scapling fucking thrift shops

4:08 "[I]f [Taylor Swift] tried romanticizing her relationships nowadays no one would buy it."

It wasn't true in this year and this video, but holy hell was it true in "Wood."

10:21 "This is a fun song. I like to imagine Drake's ex-girlfriends turning this on whenever they hear Hotline Bling. Oh God, Damn it, DJ Mustard, you finally got me, you and your shiny ear wormy beats. STUPID ASS BITCH!!"

So basically Toddstradamus predicted "Not Like Us"

Here again because I saw a post today (2/1/2025) about a lot of these songs turning 10 years old this year and it kinda blew my mind so I wanted to come back and see Todd’s take on them at the time and HOLY SHIT I forgot their used to be two parter best-of videos??

For some reason, I Don’t Fuck With You became my high school wrestling team’s victory anthem. Whenever the varsity team won a duel they’d all get in the locker room and start blaring it and dancing. Honestly, something about the griminess of a high school locker room and a bunch of elated teenage boys shouting it at the top of their lungs just works.

I remember sitting in the car listening to the radio with my mom and I Can’t Feel my Face came on and my mom started complaining that she thought the song was stupid and made no sense. It was May first time hearing the song and I said to my mom that I’m pretty sure the guy is talking about doing Coke in the song.

Todd's declaration that these songs are became a piece of his soul makes me want him to do a retrospective of all his Top 10s and see how he feels about them over time. Todd in the Shadows' Top 10 Best and Top 10 Worst Hit Songs of Todd in the Shadows' Top 10 Best Hit Songs Lists.

Man, I loved that Elle King song. Too bad she turned out a one hit wonder.
On the plus side I can't wait for her one hit wonderland episode in 2 years!!

Oh 2015 Todd. I literally don't know how he does it. But the opposite prediction of Mullets, D&D and healthy meal prep becoming cool is just…. *Kiss
