I'd love to use this video for a class I'm to kids about colour, however the bit about gender means I wont, as its a bit sexist there, and I don't want to fill their heads with unhelpful gender norms. Bummer because the rest of the video is great

Bruh I just saw black and white
@KingBersch
January 24, 2026 at 3:58 am
I was staring at the green dot and I was sitting there for like 30 seconds and my eyes were starting to water, but it didn’t work. Why don’t you make me stay there for at least 30 seconds my eyes literally started to water which means crying I don’t know.

@ForbiddenScribe

I must disagree with the beginning test. I stared at the green dot nonstop until changed and the whole time I saw color and noticed the color changed to gray.
But don't take this too badly when watching a video of groups of people tossing a ball to each other and a gorilla jumps in the middle I was able to count the people that entered and notice the gorilla at the same time.
Perhaps it has something to with with my ability to flawlessly multi-task on three different situations simultaneously (reading, singing and writing)

Look at the frame of the first image and then the second. They are different images. There is no illusion.

I’m gonna be honest. The part where the image ‘changes back to normal’ but its still black and white is fake. You cab prove and test yourself by watching that part again, but do not look at the screen when the colors are inverted, and the effect will be the same, when you didn’t even look at the green dot

Primary COLORS are Red, Green, and Blue. Primary PIGMENTS are Magenta, Yellow, and Cyan (in art class, the PIGMENTS Blue, Red, and Yellow are close enough) COLOR is a property of light, and is what we see. PIGMENTS are a way to reflect those COLORS (light wave frequencies to our eyes.) If they would teach this in school, it would be a lot less confusing. Is white the absence of color, NO, not really. White is all the colors being reflected to your eyes. Black is actually the absence of COLOR, but the answer will change depending on who you ask and what they mean by COLOR.

I never saw the color in the B&W. Apparently I have extra cones, so I'm wondering if that plays a part…
I also prefer blues to reds and I'm female. I'm always breaking these things. 😅😅😅

It went black and white for me immediately, there was no after imaging. Is that supposed to happen?
@ActiveAdvocate1
January 24, 2026 at 3:58 am
I don't think this works on me. I'm 90% blind (from birth), and my eyes wander of their own accord, so I can't focus on thee dot. I'll jerk my eyes back to it, but I still see black and white when you turn everything normal again after the colour swap. Colour blind is the only kind of blind I'm NOT, by the way.

January 24, 2026 at 3:58 am
I saw it in grey the first time, then I tried it again and realized I skipped too much of the first part of the video and the second time I stared at the dot longer, and that's when it took half a second for my mind to switch back to grey. (very short amount of time)
