Another week, another new band from Ken. Listening to Yuka and Chronos and really liking it. I'll be going to Tower in Shibuya to pick this up. (Sorry Ken, it's easier to buy local in Japan).

…one more post here, Pete…I got a wild hair today, and decided to dig a little deeper into the world of "new bands that 'sound old'" and I found a band that I'm not sure if you've mentioned in the past; the name sounds/sounded familiar, but I couldn't be quite sure…they are Gypsy's Kiss…I checked out their 2023 album "74" and I LOVE it…through diligent research, I found that they are releasing a new album in @ 2 weeks…knowing you from these videos, I have a feeling that a) you like/will like them, and b) you will eventually give the album a review here on SOT…at least I hope so…:0)…Cheers, and I hope you're enjoying the Black Sabbath performance today.

…wuz hap'nin, gents? Just getting around to this (I actually have it "on pause" at the 9:41 mark…for a reason) and I wanted to thank Ken for bringing the John Hackett band to my attention…I went to check them out, and damn! I found a 28 song album from 2017 called "We Are Not Alone"…14 studio tracks, and…here's the best part…14 LIVE tracks!!! Killer stuff…if Jethro Tull played "prog metal" with some shredding guitar…excellent, excellent, excellent…thank you!!!…now, pause is off, and on we go…

The Greeks DID have a lot of Vikings! The imperial guard of the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire were the Varangian Guard, who were all Viking norsemen. So it's thistorically valid to have a Greek Viking metal band… Sorry for the geeking out about Greeks and Vikings.

I got the John Hackett band CD at a gig. It's fairly uninspiring poppy songs for the most part but there's a few great instrumental passages and a version of Crimson's 'I Talk to the Wind'. Let's hope he ditches most of the vocals in the future.

Back in the 70s when I wanted to check out stereo equipment or headphones, Thick As A Brick was always my go-to LP.

The new Zappa movie is unbelievable. So many good things here. The Softworks is very good for Holdsworth fans. He only agreed to the gig because John Marshall was on the drums. Can't wait for the Beat release. Any chance they might tour Europe?

Anyone wondering, VDGG World Record 5.1 was not in the huge box set. I assume that the remaster and stereo remix is the same as the box set.

Whomever said you weren't subject to tariffs is just a douche bag. From what I understand, music is not subject to tariffs, however, the materials albums and CD's are made from are..That makes shit more expensive..You get what you voted for.
