DeepSeek would never surpass OpenAI because what it does basically is forwarding the prompts it received to OpenAI, then slightly modifying OpenAI's answer and presenting it as its own answer 😂.

What did they expect would happen if they primarily hired Asian engineering talent? The Asian engineers learned all the trade secrets of the U.S. companies (because they literally wrote the code and algorithms themselves) then started moving back to China and India, which accelerated once Trump ended the H-1B visa. How is it shocking that Huawei was able to quickly scale the manufacturing of its own chips, given that China is the world's largest manufacturing base and was already making all the chips to begin with? The U.S. is a house of cards built on delusion, fake expertise, and a fake monetary system.

Everyone screaming how they would lose their jobs to AI. Little did they know the AI would also lose it's job to AI

I don't know if you are still reading this comment section, but I have an engineering background, that may help. There are two elements to the why DeepSeek is better than ChatGPT. You first need to understand that AI are mostly matrixes math that use backpropagation to solve for different weight matrixes. Backpropgation uses a known input paired with a known output. The input times these weight matrixes produce an output. The difference between the known output and the weighted output is to change the weight matrixes to reduce the difference between them. A good video that goes into the trick that Deepseek uses is form the youtuber "Welch labs" called "How DeepSeek Rewrote the Transformer[MLA]". Which is short for Multi-head Letent Attention. You should still see the video, even if you don't understand the Math. The second part of why DeepSeek model that makes it better than ChatGPT is what is called mixture of Experts models. I want to let everyone know that "mixture of Experts models" are nothing new. In 2006 at the Colorado School of Mines, I found an old book that talked about using a number of smaller models in a hierarchy instead of one large model. I had to ask my robotics teacher what they were talking about. He said that large numbers of smaller AI models were faster to retrain and used less energy. As you don't have to use them all at the same time, unlike a larger model where you have to use the entire model. They were also easier to update. As you only have to change the models that are affected by the update and not the entire model.

So AI has mastered AI protein folding, that's no mean feat. It should only be a matter of time then before AI can recreate full Velociraptor Genome from scratch

I don't understand how that thing could've gone viral. It's full of censorship (ask it about tianenmen or winnie the Pooh) and there's free tiers of chatgpt with unlimited use.

In case you needed any more proof that this guy has no idea what he’s talking about than the fact that he’s some bandwagon idiot who took his unoriginal name from something a decade after it was made and entered the mainstream, since this bandwagon alarmist video was made everyone figured out that deepseek is basically unusable and constantly hallucinating and repeating itself until it just breaks and everyone has lost interest in it.

Distillation = stole the output of OpenAI to copy OpenAI’s model. So yes, they spent much less in its “development”.

Very poorly researched video. You are merely repeating headlines instead of actually going into details, in what way Deepseek is potentially better and how it threatens ChatGPT. Also, you failed to addressed the justified claims that the true costs of Deepseek might be higher.
