We got a new Gravely (which is owned by Ariens) mower a couple of years ago. Before purchase, I noticed the deck belt had a twist in it, figured the assembler/manufacturer had to know something I didn't. It lasted 15 minutes. Blade bolt torque was all over the place (just by feel, I didn't use a torque wrench). Oil drain weeps ever so slightly. I tried to tighten it, but it never fully went away. Assuming I'll have to pull it when I change oil next and it'll need pipe tape or dope. They either don't train the assemblers correctly, they push them too hard, or they don't care about the finished result. 🙂 It seems very sad to spend 13k on a machine and have those problems.

Not anywhere near the US; this skit feels universal from when I've heard my mom and aunts' stories from back when they die line work and farm work!

I think most people underestimate how good work it can be when you have good colleagues, proper safety measures in place, and management mostly stays out of your way. ❤
