Personally I think these are the best albums in their catalogue. I dont know why I am the only one who thinks that. It is heavier, more proggy, and the riffs are insane, including the solos. The FACT is that Kamelot started doing less interesting guitar stuff when they went more in the eu power direction. The songs are memorable enough. U just need to listen to the albums more. Even after 20 years they are still growing. I may argue that dominion is the best one, but eternity is still growing. If you take the time to listen to the compositions it is really many levels up from what they are doing now. I like the newer stuff too, but I find that I have to focus more on the vocal melodies there as the guitars are less exiting.
I dare you to put on the track: One Of The Hunted, and play it really loud. You wont hear anything more explosive and metal up in your face than that intro riff and how it keeps going!

It's been ages since I revisited the first album, especially since I was introduced to the band by the "one Cold Winters Night" DVD, so Kahn was the voice I gravitated too. Eternity is totally a Crimson Glory album, there is not so much Tate like vocals, but an uncanny Midnight timbre and phrasing. I am really enjoying the re-acquaintance with this album.

Thanks, Pete. Kamelot is one of the best in terms of putting out quality packaging. Nice to see you've joined the bearded club!

Need to get this compilation box. Love those lps. All that I have heard yet own the debut cd of Kamelot and Eternity. So love every part of the album A classic similar QR sound, My main penpal at the time she mentioned for me to get Eternity to start getting into Kamelot. Back in the day. Glad she did. A fan of the band forever. Would have liked to have seen, And yea while to miss Vanderbilts voice. Roy Kahn fulfilled greatness ao loved, Today adapted to Tommy Karevik so Kamelot is somewhat relevant to still like as well.

I hope they release the 3 albums separately, also ‘cause I’d be interested in that first one, since it’s not so power metal (I’ve grown to dislike a lot of the power metal I hear these days). I still like Helloween and Primal Fear and I still love Savatage, but I don’t consider them power metal.
