1:42 yes they naturally do that. They are suggesting focusing on processes that happen normally under certain conditions.
It's kind of difficult to make a video I think about a subjective experience and ask if it it objectively there are not.
It's also as much of an art as a science so depending on who does it results may vary.
That is why a recording seldom can do what a person can do that is well trained. There is no feedback loop.

Overall it's best to start looking into how the parasympathetic nervous system regulates a lot of functions of our body and what communicates with it and how it communicates. The other part is understanding bio-feedback, yes there are machines that can monitor but we as human subconciously monitor ourselves and others also. When we are presented with fast feedback of our own parasympathetic nervous functions we can gain more control over it. There are behaviors that we because we are social creatures, primates, do automatically when we are with other primates – heartbeats or breathing might sync, blinking rate might sync, pace of changing legs and arms formation might sync, ..

The third thing is that in our bio-rythm the more one state of being is peaked the more it tends to change to another state because of hormone cycles. The more we sleep the more we go towards wake, the more we stay awake the more we go towards sleep. Natural cycles. There are 4 states to are useful to take in account: Eustress – Distress – Euphoria – Disphoria. These states can go from one into another and have a flow to them. Each state has cues that can be seen in the body. A good hypnotist sees the difference between conscious and subconscious reactions of the body.

These are some of the things that might point you towards good hypnosis and might discard some ideas about how it is about willing to believe things – because when somebody goes for a dentist or surgery for pain management before such a procedure – it realy matters 😉

I’ve been doing a lot of research on hypnosis lately and it’s kind of infuriating watching stuff like this everybody just assumes they understand hypnosis and then are surprised when they don’t turn into a cartoon zombie at a snap. Hypnosis is entering into the mental state between waking and sleeping where your imagination is on autopilot and you become highly suggestible. It requires tons of practice to enter into a deep trance where you or someone else are able to interact with your subconscious and influence it for the better. This is why most hypnotherapy just seems like regular therapy. It’s therapy for your subconscious. Stage hypnotism is very different because of the social distractions making it difficult to enter into any level of trance

3:57 That's not hypnotism, that's meditation and it's GREAT! He's not messing with your mind, just making relaxation easier
4:30 The Self sabotage thing? Well that's a really basic concept that is really easy to imagine. Does the hypnotist knows what hypnosis is like?
5:50 You were actively thinking about it…

Dude if you don't think hypnosis is real, I can gurantee you that you have a real nice ride ahead of you. Try meditation and see what it's like to perceive without your body.

whether the nail biting therapy is hypnotism or not, I can think of 3 things that contributed. 1. you recognized and wanted to change your bad habit. 2. having someone believe in us makes wonder. you can start today believing in someone/something and notice the change. 3. manifesting/visualizing. believing in higher powers. letting go (law of attraction)

Hey Danny, I started this video not really believing in hypnosis. I've also chewed my nails my whole life.
Since watching the video, despite not doing anything actively except painting my nails a few times to remind myself, I haven't chewed my nails. They've been unpainted for a while now, and I still haven't been chewing them.
I don't know if the hypnosis helped or not, but either way I'm pretty grateful to you. If you want to do a hypnosis segment on stress relief next that would also pop off with an audience of me.

The problem is, the dude went instantly "it's more fun with more people" and outed himself completely when he said he looks for the easily influenced, the people – pleasers, the socially awkward. It's 80% social pressure ,10% suggestibility and 10% extra bullshit

Don't believe it for a second.
For some reason this is almost always done in a group.
I'm not saying I don't believe in hypnotism. I've seen crime shows were they went to a hypnotizer just to see if the surviving victims could remember anything about the accident and with that info they were able to catch the person who cause it. The survivor could remember, at night time, pinch dark, in the middle of a lake, the numbers of the speedy boat that hit their boat killing two and leaving others to die in the cold water. So I do believe in a certain point and its a miracle what a person can remember… seriously: would you remember some NUMBERS on a speedy boat that is hiting yours? But this sort of thing I don't believe at all.

Hypnotism is essentially the same as meditation. With discipline, you cab di this yourself. Just meditate and then visualize whatever goal you have. It really works. Chanting (even in your mind) positive affirmations can also help.
