Tyreek Hill Vs Miami Police Department

Hi Friends,

This week I wanted to share my thoughts on Tyreek Hill and the police actions against him during a traffic stop. There are so many horrific encounters and attacks on black people by police on things that should be as routine as traffic stops. There are more names than can be counted from Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Sonya Massey, these are some of the most egregious and high profile cases that most, including myself would have thought would lead to change but did not.

My hope is that change can come but it won’t be by waiting for something sad enough or illegal enough to make lawmakers change the law. The just department has already found that basically every police department they’ve investigated has a confirmed bias against people of color with little change at a time.

I also talk about trying to be a good samaritan and it going horribly wrong.
If you love my stories I have a podcast that comes out every week: https://bit.ly/3NQmpio

Having once failed to open a door for someone (it would not move I don't know why) and now been the guy who lifts full carts out of the snow and mud, Josh you gotta start lifting at least some 5lbs weights

The fact that someone can be an unrepentant racist and an average cop at the same time is unacceptable, yet it's still one of the norms that we accept with policing.

Iโ€™m sorry to say all these events make me think that US is a very scary place to live ๐Ÿ˜ž
In my supposedly โ€œthird worldโ€country, nobody carries guns, police brutality isnโ€™t an issue, almost no cops are waiting at the side of the roads to catch you speeding because we got cameras to do so.
I sincerely hope things get better in the US so people, no matter the color of their skin, can feel safe

What is the deal with presumably drunk white ladies yelling, laughing and commenting so loudly that I can barely hear J. Johnson? I hate Arizona but it happens frequently with the comics I watch. Ugggh Such embarrassments.

WOW! We clearly watched two different body cam videos! I watched one where Tyreek acted like an entitled millionaire famous football player that believes heโ€™s above the law. Yours mustโ€™ve been AIโ€ฆ and he could t get down on the ground but was playing in an NFL game that day? Wild!

Whenever i hear people adamantly say white privilege doesn't exist i point out police interactions. Seen videos of dudes with semi-automatics shooting at cops that were arrested, then there's Philando Castille who told the cop he had a gun, told him he was going for his license, was shot dead.

In my own life I had an incident where a cop pulled me over, asked for my info and I asked him why he stopped me. He repeated himself and I repeated myself. We went in circles for awhile and eventually I gave it to him. Then we had a discussion about police brutality against citizens for minor traffic stops, where people are killed for things no court would sentence someone to death over. There'd been a recent police execution of a black driver, don't remember which specific incident. He acknowledged those incidents, said they're not all like that, etc. Don't think I'd be able to have that conversation if I wasn't white.

As a former black cop who has witnessed my fellow white officers abuse minorities personality, I usually tell people that white cops prefer to violate minorities first, but when you are white and cross the line they are more than happy to give you the business. As Dave chappel said, if only they would even out the abuse we could live with that, at least unalive 3 white men for every five none white instead of the way it is now one white for every 100 minority.

Hey , you pick up the front end of the stroller and she picks up the backend and then you can take it all the way up the stairs without bumping the steps

My old roommate learned the hard way that police don't care about your color. He was an older White gent, farmhand like me, bent and graying, used to think I was silly for distrusting the cops. One night he went to the grocery store, I heard a car pulling up the drive, when suddenly there were squealing tires and an explosive hit, following by shrieking profanity with red and blue flashing lights. I ran to get my gun (wasn't the first time someone broke onto the farm) and went to the window only to see a cop having rammed into the back of my roommate's car to box him in, kicking the crap out of the side of his car door with his gun already drawn out, screaming at him.

The farmer came running out from the back barn with his rifle lowered, demanding to know what the hell was going on, just seeing flashing lights and hearing profanity and thinking we called the cops on someone trying to break into the cannabis storeroom again. The cop said, "This guy was going 150 MPH and refused to pull over." We looked at his tiny Mini Coupe and burst out laughing.

"Officer, that car don't get above 80 unless it's going downhill."

As soon as the cop realized this REALLY WAS HIS RESIDENCE, and he saw all the security cameras all over the property (cannabis farm, these were mandatory) his attitude changed REAL fast. Roommate still got a ticket although we all knew it was BS, and he left.

Well, that car wasn't even my roommate's, it belonged to his girlfriend. She was OLD WORLD money, and that car was her baby. Now the back bumper was smashed in, and the door was so smashed up from this cop's boot, my roommate could barely open it in order to get out and could no longer shut it. She sent her lawyer to dig into this cop only to find he had been kicked out of 3 departments in 2 states, once for shooting an unarmed kid. Every time he got in trouble, they'd move him to a new district and sweep it under the rug.

Money talks, and she built up a helluva case against him. She didn't just want her door repaired. She INSISTED only her original dealer in the UK could do it. She made sure it was the most expensive repair shop she could find. She hoped this monetary punishment would make the department think twice before accepting a known child-killer.

To this day, she makes sure this cop knows she's still following his career. She NEVER lets him forget the middle-aged European Karen whose car he took his frustration out on.

My roommate also got out of the speeding ticket once her lawyer worked out where the cop had clocked 150 MPH on his radar, which was 200 feet after the exit to the grocery store, and we had the receipts to show he had just paid for his food 3 minutes before the radar tripped. (There was a motorcyclist who sped down that highway all the time, and apparently this night the cop pulled over my friend in outrage at being left in the dust once again.)

They easily proved with math that it was PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for that car to go 0 to 150 in 200 feet. (It would need 800+ horsepower to pull this off. A high performance Mini Coupe only has 134 HP, and hers was standard.) Plus he would've been pulling a couple G's, which honestly would have made that tiny car badass.

So yeah, they don't care what race you are, and it doesn't matter what race they are. Being darker skinned just increases an already-toxic system.

Phoenix USED to have scanners, but there is this thing about "facing your accuser" that people here used to get them taken down. Also, the photos that the scanners take capture the speeder and ALL the cars near them, so ALL the cars were getting tickets even though only one car may have actually been speeding.

I cannot believe that i can lift more than josh as a woman. I prolly couldnt do it one handed but my parents have been exercising since before i was born, specifically deadlifts, so they taught me the technique/form of lifting properly even tho i didn't have an interest at the time of learning to deadlift. Josh probably also stands as much as i do, too (i try to stand most of the day working a sedentary job for 12hrs variably throughout the week).

A simple solution to police brutality is to stop having the state pay out their lawsuits. Policemen/women as individuals should have to deal with the consequences of their actions, not the taxpayers. Until we can take the cops to court individually, it's not going to change.

I hate trying to find a specific part of his videos because every part I skip to is just Josh standing there with a half smile not saying anything, which I think is at least 60% of his material. Just standing there… looking.

NO where near the same when most Cubans think they're Caucasian. Clearly this c0p does but uses various "cards" depending on the situation. Perhaps white & blue are his favorite colors… in that order. Still I say… always good to find a good Officer.
