The Judas Priest fairytale is over… but is there something after?
And just like that, another chapter of the heavy metal history has come to a close.
On October 26th, in The Woodlands, Texas, Judas Priest and Alice Cooper wrapped up their co-headlining tour, ending the chapters of both Shield of Pain and Alice’s Attic.
So today, let’s take a deeper look into the story, talk about the controversy surrounding it, and then unveil a little bit about what may come next for Metal Gods. Here you go!

00:47 – The unexpected choice
01:46 – Justice brought?
03:12 – Alice Cooper revenge

Whom would you like Judas Priest to pair up for a tour next? 🙂

I would have loved to see the Shield of Pain tour, but it didn't come to the Pacific Northwest on this North American run. ☹ I did see them play a year ago but I really would have loved to see Solar Angels live. It would have been great to see COC and Alice Cooper again too. So, a little bummed about that but hopefully they'll be back again soon.

The highlight of The Alice Cooper and Judas Priest remake was watching Nita Strauss finally and running into Gene Hoglan in the food court. Other than that it was no different from the first version.

This was such a badass show. Both bands were amazing as always. I got a VIP ticket and Alice signed my tattoo of him. I got his autograph tattooed the next day.

Priest played the Molson Amphitheatre (aka Budweiser Stage) in Toronto for the first time since the British Steel 30th Anniversary tour with KK, and it was a capacity crowd of nearly 16,000 heavy metal maniacs. The merchandise line was the longest & slowest I've ever experienced, and we missed out on the entire CoC set while waiting in line. Largest crowd in Ontario since that show with KK. Priest had been playing increasingly smaller crowds in either casinos or only using half of hockey arenas here over the last 11 years (Epitaph used the full arena at the ACC if memory serves me right).
I'll also add, best shirt designs Priest has ever had. Usually there is only 1 good shirt design. I ended up buying 3 shirts from this tour! 😎🤘

I was at the Pittsburgh stop of this tour. I've seen Judas Priest 5 times previously: 1980, 1981, 1982, 1984, and 2008. "Unleashed in the East" is possibly my favorite metal album ever. Given all that, my favorite of Judas Priest's material comes from their 1970s work. That said, I went in knowing that I wasn't going to hear them play my favorite of their tracks on this tour, especially since a new generation of metalheads had embraced the Painkiller album, redefining their demographic and presentation. With all that out of the way, the entire show was excellent: Priest, Alice, and COC.
I'll also add that I was a huge supporter of Corrosion of Conformity in their early years when they were a hardcore punk band, having seen them several times in small clubs between 1985 and 1988. Anyone familiar with their early work will remember that their first, independently-released album, An Eye for an Eye, contains a cover of "Green Manalishi", more similar to Priest's version than to Peter Green's original. Perhaps Corrosion of Conformity were not such an odd choice for this tour.

I love the Deliverance album as well, and as for Alice Cooper … you will get every penny's worth for the ticket.
Sounds like a perfect concert to me!

I'm discouraged that they didn't play 1 song from the first four albums. Nearly 5 albums if you remove Hell Bent for Leather which they are obligated to play. In the past you could at least count on Beyond the Realms of Death, Ripper, Victim of Changes, Green Manalishi, Diamonds and Rust and a few others to make an appearance. If they can drop Electric Eye and Got Another Thing Comin from their set they can at least take a break from Breaking the Law and Livin' After Midnight. It would be nice to see them play Desert Plains, Sinner, Heading out to the Highway, Metal Gods, Riding on the Wind, Turbo Lover, Victim of Changes, Sinner, Grinder, Burnin' Up, Exciter, Tyrant, Deal with the Devil, Better by You, Better than Me and Saints in Hell.

'Sad Wings of Destiny' by Priest is the best metal album ever – beautiful mellow parts contrasting perfectly with the completely cranked up parts
– Halford's voice is brilliant on this album – my favourite track is 'Dreamer Deceiver' —- the whole album's deeply under-rated

From the clips I have seen in this video, it sounds like there is no autotune being used at their age. Hats off to that! I did not expect to hear that from the Priest. I saw them a few years ago and it was amazing! Alice, I was not sure about. Glad to see he is keeping it real.

I wanted to attend this tour, but the only reason I decided not to is that the venue for the Chicagoland show was very far away (Tinley Park). It's a decent venue, but getting there without a car is difficult. Even though there's a train stop there, frequency is very bad and there's no shuttle service to the venue, which is basically the only reason to go there.

Judas Priest does NOT EXIST!
Dude, they are a shadow, a cover, an empty shell of what they were.😢
NO TIPTON or DOWNING is ridiculous.
At least one of them SHOULD BE THERE!
Ritchie is great but, he doesn't represent the riff master history of Glenn and KK..
With Rob speaking the vocals half the show and out of key[ i love Halford] on a few tunes it's just not worth it for ME to go to the show..
😢 I guess it's more of a PRIEST party than a PRIEST concert🤔😢😶

I'm kicking my ass for not going to see the Toronto date! Even on September 29th, it was a beautiful, warm day out and the Molson Amphitheater is the best venue to see a concert! 2nd, I LOVE Corrosion Of Conformity! To top it off, a bunch of students from my old high school's musical program won the chance to be on stage to sing 3 songs with Alice Cooper! Would have been a concert to remember!

It's cool that Alice Cooper and Judas Priest are both still putting out new albums rather than resting on their laurels like many other bands.
