   i like banana flavored stuff but everyone ive ever known has hated it so i thought it was a widely known thing that people hate it??? im so confused but happy i found such a large fanbase for banana flavored positivity???????

   gros michel bananas still exist and you can buy some but they are expensive. The idea that the banana flavoring is based on the gros michel is a myth (it doesn't taste like one at all). isoamyl acetate is found in many fruits, she actually got it right in the first part. Scientists didn't really have the means to isolate flavor compounds so they just kinda got as close as they could. No biggie, don't feel like this video was really about that because everything else is spot on.

   So apparently Birds of Paradise (the plant) are somewhat related to bananas. They were separated from the banana family taxonomically about 22 years ago, but are considered to be in related families. A species of bop that my dad is growing apparently even has "banana" in the common name. Learned that today.

    Orange is the way.
    -its always ready to travel with a thick jacket.
    -can be dropped and wont ruin.
    -its so good we just call it by color.
    -Its loaded with sugar.
    -always splits into 12 pieces to be shared by 2-12 humans.
