5 Important Questions No One Knows The Answers To

Pursuit of Wonder | November 20, 2025

New Pursuit of Wonder book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08D4VSD88

There is so much known about humanity and the life we inhabit, but there is so, so much more unknown. It is humbling and sometimes a little scary to recognize how much we still don’t understand about ourselves. Everyday we do and experience things without a clue as to what is happening or why it’s happening. We are still embryonic on the journey towards understanding, and perhaps this is an unending journey, like we are on a treadmill with unlimited power. And perhaps that’s a good thing. What do you think?

I know why we sleep , because videos like this are boring. And if you are like me and lay bricks on a building site 8 hours a day you’d know why we sleep also.

All I know is that throughout my life anytime things got serious an answer was literally provided in real terms. The answers are always there but we don't always see them.

Conscious awareness of our conscious self being aware of brain perception is our higher consciousness, which ultimately is beyond self, yet infinitely connected to the inner life force, fellow sojourners. We decide which is right and which is an illusion. Amen 🙏🩷

Finding "being human the most beautiful thing in the Universe" is an anthropocentric perspective which is the by-product of humans' own observer-bias. From a cosmologic point of view, the Universe does not care for myriad creatures living on a tiny planet located in a Solar System among billions of other galaxies.

I can fully answer all of these questions.
1- Sleep is a short form of hibernation. Like frogs, fish, and bugs that freeze in the short days winter and blossom in the heat of a summer day. The sun controls all consciousness on earth.
2- The brain is not just a thinking machine. A processor of information. Dreams are subconscious impressions fed to our conscious. You can also get the same effect through meditation.
3- Consciousness is what is referred to as having "the light". The halo surrounding the heads of saints in mid evil art. Consciousness can only be defined as a higher sense of knowing. It's like being in love. You just know.
4- Yes, we have free will to do what ever we want. Strangely though, we all have an internal compass that ultimately leads us toward making the right decisions.
5- Define real. Define unreal. They are both objective and subjective views. Nothing is real or false? Everything just is, as it is, in the moment. And then it's gone.

When you realize we are spiritual beings living in a human body, the answers to your five questions will hit you like a ton of bricks.

In all of these 5 questions, consciousness is involved, as is innevitable because every experience and question we have involve consciousness. We cannot escape consciousness. We cannot even escape consciousness in unconsciousness, because consciousness is there to experience the so-called unconscious state. So, consciousness is there in waking, dream and dreamless or unconscious state. If it is ever present, is it not present in death? What is death then? Does conciousness have a end?, does it have a beginning? Is it not that "a beginning" or "an end" imply conciousness as a substratum?

Internet random here. Here's my best answers to each. Of course, these aren't scientific fact, but my passionate beliefs, so take them with a grain of salt.

    1. It isn't particularly necessary or useful for us to do anything at night, especially considering our weak sense of sight, so naturally, we and most animals go unconscious for a period or two during the day cycle, for several reasons, such as securing the day's new memories in place, repairing the body, other things too. This might explain why the energy spent sleeping is about as high as active movement. (I've only just watched the rest of this question's segment so now I don't know at all)

    2. Dreams are caused as an interesting bug of the brain where the conscious part picks up signals from whatever part's archiving memories, and it tries to make sense of the thing. With my somewhat sufficient understanding and experience with neural networks, this seems almost obvious to me.

    3. Consciousness, as per the common use of the word and not its literal definition, is a concept made up by the human brain to make high, abstract thinking easier or quicker, or to produce a human-centric idea. Humans probably are the most intelligent creatures on the planet, but aside from the differing level of complexity, there is no functional difference between humans and other animals big enough to declare somewhere along the complexity spectrum where consciousness suddenly or gradually appears, or appears at all.

    4. No. Humans are certainly complex enough to exhibit spontaneous behavior, and humans can be programmed to some extent, such as acting in a movie, working a job, but ultimately, it isn't possible to change your intrinsic wants without some extent of physical brain trauma or something similar.

    5. The only thing I can guarantee is real is the empty set in mathematics and what I assume is my brain. However, whatever environment my brain is in is at least as real as a videogame world, in the sense that it's entirely self-consistent and follows a set of unchanging rules as far as I can tell. However, with this information, I can by extension guarantee a mechanism which computes and provides information about the environment, though I can't specify anything about said mechanism.

This questions are from Google impossible questions

1)at what time did the time begin?
2)how do we know why color is?
    3)why water is wet?
    4)Does"Nothing" exist?

You say life will be even better but how can you say that of the universe will fall Into complete darkness ? How is that happy ?😐death you may find peace but peace won’t last forever if you have peace it can get very boing 😐saying the universe will end forever does not make since Beacuse if that were truley the case then how as a current universe living today ?😐what or were we before earth before the universe before the Big Bang the further you go back eventually you see nothing 😐however that is only because our brains can’t cope with infinity we could have had a life before with the same experience only with minor changes 😐saying that this is the only universe all just to end up in death forever sems to fishy 😐Beacuse if a universe has a life cycle in order to repeat the process you need to understand mechanism and the end of a universe and the beginning of one 😐most people when looking at a book they see the beginning and the end and that’s it 😑that could be ware our universe is heading however the more you question it the more you may get the bigger picture after all what’s the point of the Big Bang in the first place ? 😐I possibly was all ready dead not knowing if I was ever to exist or not 😐and yet somehow here I am 😐I did not ask for this it just….happened I guess with life and death you don’t really have a choice on ware you will be born or how you will be born 😑I guess the only way to change is for something different to happen within history only then will you become something or someone different 😐 death and life are pre-haps Yang and young 😐you can’t get order the ( Big Bang ) with out chaos 😑 and you can’t have chaos with our life 😐so even when their is nothing in space some how nature can do something after all if we are the only carbon complex lifeforms in the universe what the the odds if this happing again ?😐most would say never but how do you know in a different possible universe before the Big Bang you could have said the same thing 😐after all if the nig bang is true then despite all odds under just the right conditions over a point of the universes early history earth was formed and we life today I know that people say the universe is metaphorically like a human brain 😐and could it be that some how maybe the universe is alive ?😳after all if the Big Bang were true earth may not be the first planet ever but something about this planet makes it’s special we could have existed anywhere but no it was specifically earth one planet 😐very strange

Why do we sleep?😐well the reason why we sleep is Beacuse to give our mind a rest your brain is a tool 😐 saying that life is meaningless depression can kill you no really it can 😐over use of the brain can lead to overload 😑you sleep to give your mind a rest 😐animals also sleep even if they don’t have eyelids like snakes and fish they still sleep 😐and sleeping is a why or relaxing your Brain 😐

how are y’all sooooo smart but can’t see sleep is to rest the perceptive parts of the mind, our part that controls the muscles and joints and the the muscles and joints themselves. Dreams aid in the rest which is why 3 the consciousness is aware of itself because of this dream state aka new waves I think beta from active yo resting or trancelike lol free will is real but bc theirs so many possibilities everything happens that’s where different realms occur (two slit particle theory)

Why do we sleep: Body parts make up a human and these body parts need rest to make up a healthier human mainly our brain. This is a time when brains aren’t used so we can rest them. Imagine what would happen to our thinking process and physical and mental body life if we never get rest. In simple words we need sleep so we can rest ourselves and our body parts. And one factor why sleep during the night occurs is because The Sun makes us feel energized.

Why do we dream: One study proves that dreams are created by our brain (the memories, abstract thoughts and wishes pumped up from deep within your brain). Why do we dream? Is because those memories are a function of your brain of you imagining random things, When you imagine these random things when you’re awake it’s called ‘’thinking or imagining’’ but when you do it when you’re sleeping while your brain is half asleep it’s called dreaming. Example: You imagine yourself running down a street when you’re awake is thinking but, when you’re thinking the same while asleep and your brain is also half asleep it’s called dreaming.

What is consciousness: It is a state which refers to when you’re aware of your surroundings, unique feelings, memories, thoughts, and so on.

Do we have free will: No, humans do not have free will however we are responsible and are permitted to make our own choices. In a nutshell the kind of control needed for moral responsibility is weaker than the kind of control needed for free will according to John Martin Fischer.

Is anything objectively real: No one knows the answer to this question. But, if you look from a subjective view an object does not exist. They exist only as the affects and perspective of subjective reality, not as a thing in itself. For example: someone walks by a flower and experiences the beauty of the flower. Would you say that the experience of beauty is dependent or independent of the mind? Would the experience of the form in general of the flower be dependent on the mind? (according to Wikipedia)

The sleep one is not current. We know pretty well many of the critical processes that go on during sleep, like re-wiring, repair, memory formation, cleaning. We may not know exactly how sleep evolved (though there are good theories for that too), but we know what it's for, and since every animal does it, yeaaa it's probably essential.
