If Warner Bros got to stretch the Deathly Hallows into two pieces of content then so do we! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is the beginning of the final adventure for Harry and the gang as they set off to destroy a bunch of a Horcruxes and do a WHOLE lot of camping.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 does raise some questions. Like why did all the good guys think that having a massive party at a house that was already destroyed by Death Eaters was a good idea? And where did Harry get that mirror shard? And how thick is this dude’s plot armor? How many wildly different functions do these magical do-hickeys have?

To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

They cut out a lot of fifth book when they made the corresponding movie. Somebody(JK Rowling) should’ve warned them that the mirror was going to be an important plot point in the final book. They came out like a week or two apart in 2007 so I’m sure she was writing the final book while they were working on the fifth movie.

you know the more i see this the more i realize big blockbuster movies sometimes have more completely rediclous plots then lower budget b movies do.

Normally I’m on board but I can’t stand these jokes 0:30 it’s not an outright mistake it’s clearly just done for visual storytelling. We know that bc in the books that’s not at all what happens. It was done for the movie alone. Like bro I can suspend disbelief for ten gd seconds for something I know for a fact they did to maximize visual storytelling. I don’t hear this joke and go “oOo yeah you got em!” It just feels like an insufferable cinemasins video . If there’s an obvious deviation from source material, it’s done for a reason. Seems like low hanging fruit and lazy to target it but that’s just me

"And when Harry says goodbye to the Dursleys, then Petunia gets a little emotional, and Dudley shakes his hand and they leave as friends!"
"Awww, it's so nice that they got that development! Cut it."
"What? But Harry's relationship with the Dursleys has been the opening to every book and film in the series! We have to pay off-"
"Cut it, deleted scene. We need more time for CAMPING!"

mind you…. MOST of these plot inconsistencies are in the BOOKS themselves.

goes to show how much of a hack rowling really is. and that she got really lucky on her first 2-3 books.

other series fantasy novels aren’t perfect either, BUT their worldbuilding is a lot more coherent than this mess.

2:50 polyjuice is very hard to brew. Most wotches/wozards are not skilled enough to brew polyjuice correctly. Dont forget one of fred and geroges biggest money makers was shield charm hats for the ministry because most of their low level workers couldnt do a proper shield charm. Shield charms are much easier than brewing polyjuice.

0:34 I believe this is not in the movie, but in the books, Hermione no just erased her parent's memories, but sent the away to Australia as well. So that bypasses the friends and relatives problem.

Oh, my gods, Sean Bean would have been great in any of the movies. Imagine him with a Sharp's rifle with magic bullets that kill
death eaters and plot holes. 😎

Iirc in the book there was scene of one eccentric teacher getting hanged upsidedown in front of Voldemort's faction, thus getting eaten by his pet snake. It seems they don't adapt that

The sudden trend of movies released in two parts was the woooorst. I'm glad it's died off a bit since the main avengers movies wrapped up

I think Writer Guy drank Polly Juice Potion and Producer Guy is the result…

"Hogwarts! Wow wow wow wow………….. wow."

    "VOLDAMOR…."
    "Hey, Shut up."

"Being anti-trans for JK Rowling is super easy, barely an inconvenience."

    I heart you, Ryan. -2Ts

Can we just be honest? Movies are all garbage. The actors are fine they doing okay job creating like atmosphere and stuff but the writing and the plot holes is some of the worst I've ever seen any movies. If they didn't fall The Source material very well then they should have and if they did follow the source material very well this is definitely a case where they should have deviated wildly. These movies are basically a snoozefest in the world of super deus ex machinas
