Weird Al and Mel Brooks would make beautiful music together.

Al does put on an amazing show, in case anyone is thinking about going to see him live. I didn't plan it this way, but he was the last concert I attended. Not sure if I'll go to see anyone else in my life, I'm getting pretty old. And if Al was the last concert I ever saw, I'm pretty okay with that. It was in 2015, after Mandatory Fun was released. Great show. And I've seen a LOT of concerts over the years. From OzzY to Alice Cooper to Pink Floyd to Megadeth and on and on down the line. Seen Metallica twice, saw Drowning Pool when they first hit the scene (they were a local band here in Fort Worth). Point is, I've seen a TON of shows so I know a good one when I see it, and Al puts on a great show.

Superb interview. Love all of Al's albums. Sure, not every song is a winner, but they are still great nonetheless. Totally agree that is was best to stop after "Mandatory Fun". There's nothing in today's crappy music that he could parody anyway.

I grew up in PA but somehow still knew the song Fish Heqds by Dr. Demento. I have no idea where I heard it or why I was hearing it but I spent years trying to find it. It would pop back into my head and stuck there randomly over the years until I managed to find it to scratch the itch. I wish I knew the details of why I heard that song but it’s lost to time. Also Weird Al is the tops. Lasagna is an underrated classic.

Al comes across as a very intelligent, self-aware, funny guy. Has he ever done stand-up?

If you close your eyes and listen, it almost sounds like he's interviewing Kermit the frog.

"If I took it again I probably wouldn't get the diagnosis" my guy. That's probably the most high functioning autistic thing you could say about it

I loved this episode so much, Weird Al is such a cultutal staple from my childhood and someone I still love to this day. My first concert was seeing him at my local state fair as a kid and being blown away. I still watch UHF from time to time and am so happy to see him out there still touring. You're a national treasure Al, please don't stop ever being you ❤️❤️❤️.

Just for the fyi 12:51 autism test are subjective test and any autism test by itself is not a diagnoses, the medical professionals who diagnose you use those test and there’s kind of a threshold for them that when past they diagnose you but no test diagnoses by itself for autism

It was Pleasure Island, the Pinocchio thing. It was 18+. I saw Brian Regan there in 1990. It’s now Disney Springs cause Disney wasn’t making enough money cause parents didn’t have sitters when they went on vacation.

One of the greatest quotes in cinema history….is from his first biopic press conference…..when asked to describe the biopic…..”Its like Purple Rain, but intentionally funny.”
