    13:00 it's not just that Billie and Finneas do lots of takes until it's perfect, they actually stitch together all the best parts of the different takes, so I can see there being some truth in them not using pitch correction, but the final cut of the album tracks are still a million miles away from "natural"

    We love to sing in our place, do we sound great? Sometimes better than others, mostly just singing to have fun, my hubby says he sings to kill the mosquitoes, never heard of autotune until this video, I think it's time to record the family next time we have videoke 😅

    This is a deep and complicated subject that cross's over into other areas and is the same discussion. To edit or not to edit? The pursuit of perfection, it's in our DNA. Perfection is survival, survival of the fittest. There are a multitude of instructions written in our DNA that we really don't need today to survive but it's there and only time can change it, a long time. I agree with you, I don't want to be lied to, just put a simple disclaimer stating that it's edited, done. Photographers edit their photos, movie stars don't do their own stunts, and musicians use electronic correction. And natural humans don't have perfect bright white teeth.

    To the people defending the use of autotune and finding situations where it's fine, just know that you're the reason the bar is lower. You're the reason talent isn't a requirement for singing anymore. Every free pass you give collectively made the industry worse until the bar was in hell.

    Same shit happenede in the drumming world, some "influencers" editing their drumming parts, even speeding up the tracks, is all becuase of attention seeking, to me all this is lame ass, social media ruined everything that used to be cool

    I'm late to the party, but I'm fairly sure these are just theater/choir kids who want their "Glee/High School Musical" moments of singing insanely well but naturally and organically while totally doing normal things and not secretly locking in.

    I have been… I have been such a F00L.. for ACtually believing.. that those tiktokers were really THAT good. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Thanks! This video reminded me ONCE AGAIN to not believe everything I see on the internet.

    Thank you. It makes me insane that certain singers are constantly accused (yes recently valid) of lip syncing while others can literally have the microphone away from their face and crickets. This crap has been done for decades at this point. Dubbing, pitch correction, lip sync….whatever you want to call it, why would you want to put something bad out?

    No one mentions this, but to me but ALL auto tune sounds like T-pain to me. My problem isn’t that it’s not natural, my problem is it sounds resonated
