Existentialism & The Internet – Why We’re Getting More Anxious

Pursuit of Wonder | October 6, 2025

It is not as if the internet and age of information is bad, but it’s not as if it’s good.

In this video, we explore why during an era where there is more information than ever about how to live and be happy, we are more confused and less happy than ever, in recent history. We refer to the ever popular Jean-Paul Sartre and existentialist movement to try to find meaning in this increasingly chaotic world.

As a person who's struggling with the philosophy of life, the fact that the answer of the video for that confusion is a philosophy itself, makes me even more confused (endless cycle lol)

The assumption by Sartre is that we are “free” and are able to choose. Total fantasy. We are made of particles whose behavior is completely determined by the laws of physics. The very idea of a “self” which is “free” has no basis from a scientific perspective.

To Trully Overstand and live like Or close to, Normal & Organic ☀️ people of the 🌍, we’d Have to seek the foot steps of our anscestors and learn how to reach ourselves, and overcome all our consciousnesses and turn it into Ultimate Power and just be the Great person we could be. Amen 🙏 , Ashae

Siigh, welp, honestly, I blame the Ancestors and Some of the descendants today, that originally and/or Partially Caused these over in flicking issues.
Especially the Confusions & separating of the SPIRIT & SCIENCE 🧬 🧪 . It took a little bit of this & that to become the much of what it is Today.
Just going down the drain for No reason. Now That rabbit hole goes Meaningfully deep.

Well this is just a chat about self fulfillment then
That depends on where you live. Surely hungry poor africans dont worry about these kind of things at all: they just want food

I have heard that Life itself is purpose of life. If you ask 3-4 years kids what id the purpose of playing, they wouldnot be able to reply. They will think "what the hell is asking this man?" 🙂 They enjoy playing they dont have goal or something to fulfil.

I don't even care. Each day. One day at a time… Every day at night I die
I wake up to a new life….. And the circle continues…… One day I will sleep forever.

there might not be rules but there are consequences from our action and inaction. have to do things to survive like work a job. can't choose to be a serial killer and expect a long fulfilling life.

We look for meaning but little do we realize the more people go through life and suffer. Those that do live knowing that suffering allows more knowledge and self awareness on not having to meet standards for others.

On the alternative route, those that don’t suffer are anxious and not as uniquely assembled. Often taking out their frustrations on others when things in life get bad.

My favorite part of videos featuring Sartre is wondering how long the video will go on without mentioning how Sartre and his peers signed a 1977 French petition to reduce the age of consent to 13.

Being dedicated to philosophically ordained concepts of meaninglessness can land you in some pretty dicey waters.

yes, we are alone in our mortality and our choices but this forgets that we are also dependent and interconnected in many more ways and to focus more on the former is to abandon your humanity.
