Just wondering, is that an 18" bass drum, or a 20" bass drum?? Thanks! (I know, It doesn't really matter, Steve Jordan grooves with anything!!!)

Hadn't heard of this guy but turns out I've heard a crazy amount of his drumming,
the list of people he's played with is straight freakin bonkers.

He did exactly what the song required and sometimes that's the beauty of it. Personally I despite this song but musically from the drumming point of view it was perfect.

Being able to swing so hard with so few notes gets you the big paying gigs. If you can't swing like that, the Stones aren't hiring you.

Even the simple fill leading into the final chorus at 5:28 has just the perfect feel. It displays how Steve’s restraint and tasteful playing even when he strays from his legendary grooves.

I was really excited to watch the technique of Steve playing…I didn’t realize the editors thought this was a Michael Bay film and required an edit every 3 seconds.

Just another video reminder of the sheer depth of his pocket. One of the most locked in minus-one play-along performances by a drummer I've ever had the pleasure to hear (and watch).

So cool! love the sound of his Gretsch. Also noticed he has a Paiste Masters Dark Crash as top hi hat (17"? ) I have been toying with this idea of late hmmm…..

Some drummers think complexity is cool. I'll take a solid Pocket and Groove over anything else. And Steve Jordan is a King when it comes to it
