do they not think of their mental health and how to socialize? like how are they gonna make friends , how are they going to get a job , and etc and imagine not even knowing how to speak properly because you have an uneducated parent thinking what they are doing is right

Raising and nurturing a child does not mean shielding them from any kind of stress or discomfort. Yea school sucks but it's not meant to be playtime it's teaching you problem solving, social ques and awareness, time management, accountability, and just the plain fact that you have to work and be a contributing member of society if your ever going to be able to live comfortably and have the peace of mind of knowing you can pay your rent and grocery bills etc. These parents are to lazy to deal with kids crying and having hissy fits
they don't want to go to school and I'm sure they themselves are unable to get their children up, fed, dressed, hair done, homework checked, lunch packed and at school on time. Again giving up on anything that causes stress or discomfort. That's why we now live in a world full of entitled, weak, emotionally vacant people who cannot handle the most basic life skills without having a whole crisis. Jokes on these moms though because you didn't want to put the effort into raising a healthy child they are never gonna move out on their own because of their crippling anxiety of being a person so you will really be putting more😅effort in by the end having to live with your adult children forever!

As a woman from a Middle Eastern country where the education of children (especially of girls) are in jeopardy, I can’t imagine having the opportunity for your child to get a formal education (covered by the government, too) and not take it. Education is precious.

We started homeschooling when our kid was 5. She didnt want to learn to read. As a matter of fact, she hated reading more tham anything else we ever made her do.
Shes now 6 and and absolutely loves reading. Kids dont know what they want because they domt understand what theyre saying no to.
Unschooling is forcing your child to wait until their adults to learn the things they should have learned when they were children.

Trust me as someone who's dislexia held me back in life, and fully embarrassed me if I ever have to read aloud, not being able to read as others can be a huge confidence inhibitor.
I now know that I am intelligent but it took me 30+ years to figure out.
I don't necessarily agree with everything school teaches, but homeschool at least, don't be lazy!

12:54 my don REFUSED TO LEARN to read until he was 8. He was even in school and literally REFUSED to try. And after 8 (he is almost 10 now) he just took off and was reading the video games without us "traditional teaching" him I would still go through lessons with him but when it came to him speaking the phonics sounds and he purposely did not do the book work. So I still taught him with fun videos like hooked on phonics and the learn the letters on YouTube.

It's great to teach kids about things they are into. However, it's important to learn different things and expand your interests. People change as they grow, interests change. Also, making everything about turning your interests as a child into a career is not the best lesson. It's ok to just like things and not turn it into your entire future.

I grew up being homeschooled in the 90's and sometimes we talked about families in the homeschool community unschooling and we definitely looked down on those families. It's so weird to see it coming back with a vengeance and being framed as something positive.

“Is there any other moms…” she needs to go back to school and learn grammar. Apparently she unschooled herself.

Thank you to all the teachers and my parents who made sure I’m a contributing member of society.

I've met some incredibly intelligent homeschooled kids. I think as long as you also socialize them then it can be done successfully…..but this might result in some kids with major resentment towards their parents later in life.

I don't mean to get up my own arse but my parents taught me everything the 'unschooling' parents are teaching their kids, AND I went to school. So I had 2x the education their kids are going to have. And that's a normal experience, I'm sure most people here had that too. So whats the logic of subtracting one of their kids outlets of education?..Oh yeah, it's a social media trend🤣🤣

I kind of don't think we should take the kids to take the lead 🤔 😂 Maybe im crazy 😜 Also, yes, most of us who have learned algebra don't remember any of it. Still can't decipher it. I have to study algebra for my nursing degree. Why? Idk 🤔 We certainly don't use it
