I also suffered from depression as a teenager and slept any moment that I was not in school. I could sleep 48 hours away with zero issues, only waking to eat or use the bathroom. To me, This sounds less like a trend to me and more like relapsing.
I am totally down to cocoon in bed for a rest day, but I prioritize living my life.

Remember that true crime where the special needs woman was left of the couch for ever and then there was a huge puddle of death ….. Bed rotting isn't hip, it's self harm .

Bed rotting is not a flex. It’s sad and everyone should feel embarrassed about doing it. 💀 go touch grass, for real.

I honestly use to have a hard time with this as a teenager now that I'm older 😅 I'm more proud 😂

Didn't finish watching this video because it inspired me to make the most today (even though my brain isn't feeling it) and get off my bed.💪

I am forced to bed rot due to a chronic illness and I'll tell you right now I would pay anything to be able to be out of this bed all the time except the eight hours that i'm asleep. I don't agree with this if it is for more than maybe one day here and there. I also agree if it's depression, you need to get help asap

I’m a heroin addict in recovery that struggles with severe depression and PTSD. I am also autistic. I’ve “bed rotted” for months and. Years at a time. I almost feel as though there is a physical force holding me onto my bed, like there’s heavy chains on my limbs preventing me from moving. It feels emabrsssing, I feel ashamed & guilty. I want so badly to get up but it’s like you physically cannot. It’s a horrific feeling.
I am just now starting to slowly dig myself out of this hole thanks to my loved ones helping pull me out of this quicksand like experience. I want my life back.. progress isn’t linear, but I’m progressing a lot. I do not stay in bed 70% of my day anymore. I can actually get up and do the things I need to do. I clean and take care of my hygiene. I’m so proud of myself.

I find this trend sad. I have depression, PTSD, panic disorder, and ADHD… to say I struggle with getting out of the house or even bed at times would be an understatement. However, I find the term "rot" so morbid and can't believe it has become popular to use such a term for these issues. It gives me the ick.

10:16 day 4 of barely having energy to get up and do anything out of bed…except to setup your camera and the correct angle, turn it on, and get back in bed to record yourself, then turn off the camera and upload the footage of you "bed rotting". Ok hun

i never feel good after bed rotting lol in fact every time i do i need to have a very productive day after to prevent falling back into a depression
i don’t see anything wrong with people making it more “aesthetic” though because i think it can be like baby steps and more of a self care thing in that way

Those saying bed rotting is bad are the same extroverts we are trying to hide from because being around them is exhausting.

I get into bad slopes in life where bed rot for months gettin to the point where I do not eat either. When I tell u, this is gross that ppl even think this is cute. No literally. It’s disgustin, who tf wanna admit n think is cute when they let mold grow in the corner of the room as they sit on they bed watching it continue to spread? Oh no one yea that’s what I thought😭

WHY matters. I’ve bed rotted from severe mental illness and also just because I am exhausted and need a recharge. The problem as with all things is that people took a nice little self care trend and ruined it by trying to sell something else under its name.
