Hey everybody! Thank you for watching this video. I got a comment on a recent video asking me to talk about my favorite beautiful songs. I wanted to take it a step further and ask what makes these songs beautiful in the first place. Whether it’s Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead, Hurt by Johnny Cash, or Holocene by Bon Iver, these are some of my favorites.

Don’t forget Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing, by David Bowie. The elements of that song are unforgettable and honestly it’s one of the best pieces of song writing/production I’ve ever heard. Beauty is subjective in all forms though, so I don’t know who would agree with me.

One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard is Wings for Marie (parts 1+2) by TOOL about his mother who passed away. It’s extremely powerful but beautiful at the same time

the main thing i see between the two versions of hurt is that its two people at the same point after different journeys. they both sound like theyre near the end but cash has come a long way and reached his lifes logical conclusion while reznors sounds desperate like hes about to meet an untimely end

    Hey Mr. Alfo Media,
I'm sure you may get tired from questions like this, but have you ever listened to anything by Karl Jenkins? He isn't a rock or pop artist, far from it, in fact. He's just got this very unique style that I think, based on your videos, you might enjoy.

By the way, over the course of the past day or so, your channel has become my favorite of all time.

The earliest I recognized beauty in music in a real way was hearing the guitar solo on Dir En Grey's 'Ain't afraid to Die'. I mean, the whole song is pretty, but holy crap, the emotion in that solo. aaaaaah. ToT/

Hey man, thanks so much for this video it’s really gorgeous, I’d love for you to listen to blood by the Middle East if you’ve not already, it’s a really beautiful track that I think would fit in to your new series if you’re a fan!
