7:18 I have, in fact, lost my cat George for a year, but he wasn’t lost he was just waiting for a specific foster dog (a shepherd mix who wasn’t quite friendly with cats). George is an indoor-outdoor cat, mostly outdoor, and is the old man of the house who catches rodents and goes on excursions to who knows where (we live on a ranch and used to have chickens and alpacas). The literal day after that foster dog was adopted, I pulled into the garage after a closing shift at work to find George waiting for me.

20:02 I would think that there's an equilibrium. Saber-toothed cats might have had a bit of a flap to partially cover their canines, but this is how I think about it: if they had long flaps of skin covering their fangs, it might get in the way of their actual biting. The flaps could get bitten and lacerated themselves. I think at a certain size of flap it wouldn't be efficient or effective to curl them up and out of the way.

Sabertoothed tiger, sabertoothed cat, actually I prefer Smilodon. I picture this beast "smiling" just before it wields those massive teeth and takes down its prey. Weird, I know. Hmm… would be awesome to put that "smirk/smile" in a tattoo.

But what I want to know is: where do you draw the line? There's a deer-like animal I can't recall the name of that has similar teeth, but they're referred to as tusks. Same with the 'sabre-toothed' fur seal we call walruses. Oh, yeah! Muntjack.

I love cats, your lecturing style is weird. I can listen to you for a while. I like weird. Thanks for the qualifier. ….."that we know of" … So very very true.
Also I cannot watch anymore news. Thank you!

A good example with common names vs actual names would be like the Great White Shark. They're not actually called "Great White Shark". They're just White Sharks. But obviously nobody corrects people for saying "Great White Shark", its the common name, its not a big deal lol

    I love your cat serious…
    Keep it up!

Please take my gentle ribbing as a compliment to your body of work and not as a dissing of you and your partner.
(If you need to escape you know the signal or blink three times in rapid succession)

Baja blast freeze from Taco Bell with a shot of whatever flavor you want of Amsterdam was a good happy hour drink back when I still was drinking.
Or the strawberry freeze with passion fruit….don't drink kids!
