This was as real as it gets and as a fellow loner, I feel validated. Thanks for the deep discussions.

Neal is a great therapist! I'm trying to soak this all in. My fear of abandonment as a child & loneliness manifested into drug addiction so I never have to face reality.

They’re loners due to spending inordinate amounts of time up their own arseholes and nobody else can fit

Maybe don’t generalize about all relationships based on relationships with the wrong person? Also, maybe in order to meet the right person you have to become someone who could be the right person for the right person? Maybe? 🤷🏻♀️

My husband definitely has his own “wing” of the house. His office is his, his tv, his computers, etc. This is perfectly reasonable to me. I want alone time myself pretty often. I think it helps me to sort myself and to miss him and then want to be together again.

And here's Neal unknowingly (??) creating a classic conditional response for viewers by pairing a bell with negative emotions. Mastermind? Evil genius? In all seriousness, I'm a huge fan!

Embraced my solicitude, and genuinely look forward to the days I have planned with friends. Super extroverted, but at a certain point because of bad relationship, and friendships. Retreated back, and I think its saved my life.

Such a strange thing to say about women. Women want sex too. Good sex. We're not looking for a trusting friend and and give you sex as a reward. Women are just like men thinking about sex a lot. Quality sex. Such al old- fashioned way of thinking: women reward men with sex. A woman friend of mine said: 'From the day I turned thirteen I was constantly horny.'

Humans aren't meant to be alone for long periods of time. We have tribal people. We stick together in groups. But the West has gotten rid of that. You grow up and are told to move out and create a life. Some people barely talk to their parents ever again even if they had good parents.
So in the end, loneliness is our biggest fear. I saw it with my mother when she died of cancer. Was always alone but loved it I guess. But in the end she was glad I was there with her until the very end.
We all need someone. And whether it's kids, siblings, parents, aunts & uncles, grandparents, etc we need that. And I think it's work to get those values back or to at least undo the bad habits. Learn to share with others for example.
I'm lucky that I found a woman that's like me. Both of us have our own issues and history with stuff but help each other. We do our best and rarely get upset at all, let alone argue.
I WANT to spend time with her. And she wants her own time like myself sometimes. Yet we will do it together. I'm playing a game with headphones while she'll be watching her anime or horror movie on her iPad next to me. Or vice versa. So even when we wanna do our own thing, we are in the same room. We think alike, say the same shit, are attracted to similar things and yet have our own unique things that we share with each other. We introduce each other to stuff.
2.5 years with her. I think it's possible. I was pretty lonely until SHE asked me out at my job. Been living together for nearly 2 years. I love it!

Bobby Lee is the most open honest intelligent childlike comedian I've ever seen. I love that he just says whatever is on his mind, most people wear a mask and you can never figure out where you stand.

Yeah I grew up forced to be alone due to what depression did to me. The meds didn't really work. And I just learned to be alone. But there are things I still did to not feel alone. Music was one but if I had internet that worked that day, I'd play games online.
Kinda a sad life but those were my dark years so yeah, makes sense.

that’s why literally all of them have partners and all of them are excessively praised by society. That’s not loneliness Einstein
