Sharp, who is serving in her second term as president of the nation’s largest Native American organization, will discuss the successes of 2022 at the National Congress of American Indians, including the recent victory for Indian Country of advance appropriations into the federal budget for Indian Health Service.
Earlier this year, Sharp led the Sovereignty Run, a 1,700-mile run from Oklahoma to Sacramento, California to bring awareness of tribal sovereignty.
An attorney, Sharp is a strong protector of the environment. She will discuss NCAI’s commitment to stop the negative impacts of climate change in Indian Country.
