Best Practices In Youth Council Development
Host UNITY Staff: Greg Mendoza and Guest Speaker Ginger Martin, Owner, Sunbird Enterprises, LLC., Original UNITY Earth Ambassador, Former President, Akimel O’odham/Pee-Posh Youth Council, UNITY Alumnus, will be presenting on Youth Council development.
Notable points about the objective of the Youth Council is to ensure that youth have access to:
* Ongoing relationships with tribal leaders
* Safe places with structured youth activities during the non-school hours
* Training and Organizational support * Opportunities to give back through community service
*Offer input into the issues affecting their peers, provide guidance and feedback in tribal policy formation and serve as effective spokespeople for the tribe.
