The Blue Tsunami Explained: Why Everyone’s Reading the Midterms Backwards

Tom Bilyeu | November 5, 2026

Ooh, buddy. The blue tsunami in the midterms is a bigger deal than people realize—but not for the reasons that most people think. The market reaction has been absolutely insane. We’re talking a total crash, then a wild rebound, all with implications that are going to hit you, your wallet, and your future in ways nobody’s talking about yet. Swing voters didn’t just pick a side—they sent a shockwave through the entire system, and now even Nick Fuentes and the DSA are sending out near-identical calls to their followers. How did we get here? What does it all mean for the next two years—and beyond?

We’re breaking down everything: the disaster for Republicans, the unexpected alliances, the market whiplash, and the cultural energy that’s about to reshape the political and economic landscape. This episode is about understanding the real story behind the headlines, ditching the memes, and getting clear on what’s actually happening—to you, to your family, and to the entire country.

So strap in and get ready, because this is the Tom Bilyeu Show Live.

Trump had to do that which nobody else would. It's more like throwing yourself on the sword. We have the 22 trillion investment in industry in the US. We have a closed border. Perhaps we will now have a chance to hold our own against China in the future. Politicians might secretly be glad he did this because they could not or would not… it's better to win the election than to do the right thing. Still, I am not sure how long the US will last with the current crop of demon-craps.

Do people not know that people on Medicare have to pay to have it and no real choice in who they have as a insurance company and they don't cover half as much as a private persons insurance company. Sorry I didn't make the live today as my son and his wife was having a baby girl and that was more important.

Wow you actually downplaying colonization and the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. Tom you are sounding more and more rcist 🤦‍♂️

The thing is you don't even know it. Probably because you don't even really know what racism is.

Drew gets it. He keeps saving you from sounding like a white suprimist. 🤷‍♂️

A good strategy for Republicans would be to let a impeachment go thru with a little help. J D Vance becomes president and he can demonstrate his abilities setting him up for 2028.

The country was not built on slavery as you said it was most people didn't have slaves only the rich did, it was built on religion, and values and horses, oxen and people who worked 16 hours a day

I think what you're finding hard to articulate to Tom is that in the same way blacks in this country are stereotyped so are whites. Whites are stereotypically seen as condescending and dismissive of other nonwhite opinions. This is very well reflected in the Iran attack. Why do we think we get to tell another sovereign nation whether they can have a nuclear weapon or not. As a biracial person I think it should be understood that the stereotypical view of White culture is one of arrogance.

You can't fix America internally until you fix the external threats first !!!

The entire world tariffing the US and the US tariffing no one has been stifling the American economy for decades. Alowing China to spend money on our political system through NGO'S and influnece our youth through Social Media is causing chaos. Allowing China to build the BRICS alliance to end the Petro-Dollar is foolish !!!

End the external threat before you start cleaning your house or you will never get yout house clean … its kind of like airplanes … secure your own mask before try to help others … there is method to this logic !!!

Trump has the right prorities, slay the beast at the front door before ckeaning your house …

What we have here is a family that has just stabbed its defender in the back while he's fighting the beast because he didn't help clean the house like he said he would …

While that family feels vindicated taking revenge on their defender for not holding up his promises ( quick ) enough … that family will not survive … the beast will eat them all, while they squabble over whos responsibility the dishes are … pathetic !!!!

Yes not we will have to pay taxes to give money to people who are not supposed to be here, and not have money for vets who live on the streets, while more places with no children get paid to care for the none existent children. And those of us who worked all our lives and still have too will never get to stop working, and watch our favorite small businesses go under. So thankful people know what they want.

Difficult work that needs to be done is not well accepted by the feelings based weak minded. That’s why no one dealt with Iran for 40+ years. Trump has more courage in a pinkie hangnail than those irrelevant little pussies like Nick. Time will be kind to Trump but it will not be kind to the generation of Seth Rogan glazed baked losers.

Trump will be play "whack-a-mole Democrat" for two years
Behind closed doors the Democrats are happy….
Trump built the Wall with A.i surveillance
Removed Maduro but leaving the socialist VP to remain in power on rights returning to people
Tariff's on Chinese exports to preserve US industry
Warnings to Nato members to pay more
Telling Denmark to either beef up security on Greenland or lose it
Demanding Int. Companies invest in the US with brick&mortar

Al Sayed was definitely groomed for this. There's a video of him speaking in 2016 where his dialect, even though he is American born, is strong. Fast forward to his campaign and especially his acceptance speech, if I closed my eyes you could almost swear he sounds like Obama. What stuns me is that with Muslim/Islamic culture women aren't treated well and yet seemed to do well among women voters. I do not understand that. Just goes to show you what Charisma will do for you.

Why would they impeach trump tho?
He is a lame duck, very low support president that can't run again…
Trump is absolutely toxic to the Republicans and the Democrats are able to make him look horrible going forward.
Democrats have 2 years of problems they can 💯 blame on trump ane everyone will accept it.
Trump is a walking disaster and a gold mine to the Dems. They won't impeach, or they may but no way he will be removed.

Remember … the President is selected by electoral college … so this win placing Texas squarely in the hands of the Democrats guarantees a 2028 Democrat Presidential win.

California, New York, Texas and Florida are the 4 bigs … electoral control of any 3 of those guarantees a Presidential win … the rest of the States dont matter if you have 3 of the bigs …

    Get ready for Kamala/Newsome 2028 !!!

Any minute now Tom will start whining about the social programs, which we hourly earners are forced to pay for. Start educating money matters in jr high. And not just private school jr high. The dems will probably waste our time with attempts at impeachment even though there's no supermajority.

    Oh please. "Free gifts"? "Hand-outs"?
You are literally downplaying the fact that the people or should I say politicians who are in charge of actually managing the people's funds are up to their necks with debt in unnecessary "war" spending and filling their pockets, both with government contracts and at Wall Street all while running inflation to sky highs. The interests are high, taxes are high, gas is high, food is high and money is worth less…MATHEMATICALLY, they are the ones destroying the middle class. This cycle of "needing" the government to give the people more back to afford stuff would not be needed if they did their Jobs and managed the funds for the good of THE PEOPLE. People don't ask for handouts or free gifts,
Your metaphor is missing the fact that the hospital's nurses and doctors are the ones chocking the people, then give some as you so candidly called them "handouts" only to then take off the people's oxygen supply and the cycle goes on and on…

Ellon posting that and making fun of the whole situation, should really tell you what the state of politics in our country is actually at. It's like losing 200+ million doesn't matter, cause it's all a silly game, with pre-determined winners and losers.

Australia uses market forces in a socially advantageous way to get cheap medicines by effectively purchasing our medicines as one customer of 28 million people. We call it the PBS and Trump was very mad about it. American health care isn't going to get cheaper with leaders who are mad about cheap healthcare. And I agree that using tax funding to pay ridiculous medication prices is not a sustainable way to achieve cheap healthcare. However if the US government effectively formed an HMO that represented the population of America and negotiated reasonable rates for treatments and medicines you guys might be onto something

These and other kindred characteristics are proper to democracy, which is a charming form of government, full of variety and disorder, and dispensing a sort of equality to equals and unequals alike.

If Israel have the Epstein files, what's in Israel's interest might be what's in Trump's interest. Which could explain the war that no other US administration has been stupid enough to initiate

Sheeple are idiots lol. Without fail, every election cycle just reinforces that fact.

Sorry, I disagree about needing to rediscover a great founding myth. You can’t change the past, it is what it is. What America needs is will, creativity and a conviction to establish a new great vision for the future. If you need to be so linear, and need a historical myth to get that vision going then you’re in a lot more trouble than you think.

However, if you are saying that despite a lot of terrible things we know about the past there was wisdom here and there that we have forgotten then by all means, please bring that to the forefront but it would not/should not function to erase the facts we know.

  23. @ER-yu2kd

    November 5, 2026 at 8:24 am

I think Drew made a good point, he just wants Tom to focus on the values rather than race which is a distraction. Politics is downstream of culture ok, but changing culture is a grassroots thing that starts with education so we come full circle, let’s go back to discussing the values you normally discuss as Drew mentions.

This is all by design. I dont know why a single person would vote blue because we all know they will: Steal the tax money, turn men into women and also let the illegals in. America is cooked. All they have left is revolution. Good luck!

  25. @jeffreygrassi6346

Left leaning and right leaning. Where the hell is the center?!?!?!? I swear every time I vote to balance I never get a winning candidate. How is it this complicated to get competent individuals in the center willing to work together to keep fundamental American values in place and moving forward. If you want socialism then please go to Europe. If you want radical right ideas, please go to Russia. Both groups would quickly come back to the center after experiencing the shit show both those places are. As Americans we should never be looking outwards to others for ideas of how to manage ourselves. We are the innovators. We can develop and deploy ideas that benefit both sides without this radical crap.
