The second option of what this all means for free will reminds me of a unsettling idea that grips me from time to time, and I recently realized the solution. Ya know that current internet trend of reminding everyone that they are a brain wrapped in a meat sack? Or my favorite, you are a tiny soul carrying around a decomposing corpse? 🤣😅 Well, it's funny but somewhat true. If you think about it too long you'll trip out. Everything you are is in those brain cells….a very small space and the rest is a lucky lion's 3 course meal. And then it HIT me. Your limbs dont just flail around randomly, YOU CHOOSE what they do, they are unrelated flesh poles from the start maybe, but they BECOME extensions of YOU. So we aren't just a brain, but a body too. (Whew)
The last thing u said hits home for me. Being able to separate what I feel about my own existence (not mentally understand) when I experience random cruelty or prejudice, from whom i start to assume is not happy about my existence, is a constant struggle. I think it triggers moments before i even had an "i" and not just a "we"…or a forced We for too long. Who is in control? Who's hand is on the wheel? Hearing others opinions in disagreements is different. If its abuse, the hand better be yours. 🩷
