Wall of shame to the following corporations for trying to claim this video for a 6 second, ENTIRELY FAIR USE clip of the opening SOLO from Peace Sells. I sadly had to mute it as a result as YouTube's content dispute system basically just doesn't work anymore, but ain't no way they are getting a cent from my hard work and following of the law: PEDL, Warner Chappell Brazil, WCM SG/PRS, LatinAutor – Warner Chappell, Warner Chappell, LatinAutorPerf

I think you have too many albums at perfection so it waters down the meaning. As much as I love these bands (minus Anthrax), I think combined they have half as many perfect albums as you listed and I would include Sound of White Noise as one of those myself (I know, it's a "Thrash" list but that's me). I largely agree with your Slayer and Metallica rankings minus Kill 'Em All which I feel hasn't aged well (I grew up on Metallica, used to love that album but don't care for it any more) and I think MoP and AJFA are better than RTL. For Megadeth, I really love Countdown and Youthanasia but the earlier stuff is great too. For Anthrax, I'd have Sound of White Noise at perfection, State of Euphoria at good and the rest at Okay.

These lists are always interesting, but they can show bias with larger catalogs such as this. If I had to guess, the favorite of these bands of the author is Slayer and the least favorite by a country mile is Anthrax. It’s hard to be objective if the artists being compared aren’t held to the same esteem initially.

Harsh on "So Far, So Good, So What…" I agree about Anarchy in the UK, but that aside it's an incredible album. I always loved the original mix too. Dave butchered it with the remix.

I'mma keep it 99+1 witchu chief, the only two records i'd switch around between themselves are state of euphoria and fistful of metal. Granted, i'm not the biggest fan of Neil Turbin's vocal performance, even for a first album

What can I say: I was 17 years old i 1984, teenage depressed and nearly wanting to jump off a cliff everytime someone played Wham! to a party – but then I discoevered Metallica "Ride the Lightning", bought the single copy in my local record shop, and it saved my life. Conclusion: I'm biased, but that record will ALWAYS be my favorite!

Anybody noticed the extra work Megadeth has done?
11 albums for Anthrax,11 for Metallica, and 12 for Slayer
17 for Megadeth, thats alot more coming from the same era and time …,but I like all four ,and for sure favor Megadeth

yep, Megadeth covers ain't so good. I skip Anarchy in the usa (as Dave put it) . Can accept Through the never as the Thrashiest song on the black album. Same for Fuel on re-load*

Quite an undertaking but you made it enjoyable and to the point. I agree with everything except Load & Re-Load. They're less than OK. And Super Collider is actually a good album. Other than that, great ranking!

I don't think of Repentless as a slayer album, it's more like Kerry's first solo album. Incredibly one dimensional songs. The Terry Date production is not suitable for Slayer either. Hanneman wrote all the great songs and Lombardo played drums on them. I think the line up that recorded Repentless, is the diet coke line up of Slayer. Metallica's last good album was load. The old records of all the 4 bands I listen to every now and then. The albums from the mid 90's sucks for the most part.
