In Russian language Kun-Lun was auto-translated as ku klux klan, and in some cases (only in some) Danny was translated as Daenerys. And you know what? That was the funniest shit I ever watched and now it all make sense. Including GoT 8 season. I mean if i trained many years in ku klux klan I would also did some stupid shit, probably.

i dont like the show, but man like 90% of the things you are saying are just things that had to be done to save money, shows dont have a big enough budged to make the sets or CGI necessary to bring a fantasy city to life

A weird consequence if daredevil being back in the MCU is that we probably wont get a reboot of iron fist, or at least a rebooted origin if danny rand becoming iron fist.
It doesnt help that Doctor Strange basically stole the origin/vibe of iron fist, and that we've also had Shang-Chi which again takes a lot of the same vibe and storylines.
Maybe they could soft reboot with a different origin, perhaps weaving in Shang-Chi and/or Doctor Strange lore. It would have to be done well tho

I remember watching this. I have 0 connection to the comic book character so none of that bothered me and I still stopped after a few episodes because he was such an unlikeably petulant child having outbursts like that. As someone who didn't know what happened all that stuff about the secret city he's from also made no sense and felt purposely vague because they didn't really think about it.

My introduction to Danny Rand was The Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. And he was a fun character who was very zen so I was waiting for MCU version of Iron Fist, which turned out to be boring (S1 anyway; S2 was a vast improvement).
HOWEVER!
Danny shows up in Luke Cage S2 and we get a glimpse of this fun, zen character as he talks with Luke. It really gave me hope and made me want to see MCU doing Heroes For Hire. Alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Season 1 narrative would’ve been Davos adventuring to get the first for himself because he constantly is a reminder to Danny that he was an outsider who used and stole form the people of kunlun. We could’ve seen flashbacks of him growing up and learning and embodying the values better than davos even if he break the rules like his rebellious rap listening white boy persona would!
And that’s the story that would make up for the white savior trope and make it make sense for once.
But nah they wanted to do a nyc legal corpo drama with martial artist vigilante ceo
The big reveal needed to be Danny didn’t come to nyc for his company or luxury but that was a front to deceive madame gao and others as he is a famous person and the truth was that he was there to take down the hand where they had their roots set- nyc where they want a dragons bones! Setting up defenders better too! He can’t do it alone so he teams up with nyc street heroes!
(let’s have him be recognized through fingerprints at immigration cuz a rich kid would be reigstered by the govt given that he flew in private jets with his family as a kid) and that solves most of the initial slog of the first half of season one
