What Happened to The Star Wars Kid? – Tales From the Internet
Ghyslain Raza, best known as The Star Wars Kid, was one of the first people to ever achieve overnight Internet fame when he accidentally left behind a tape of himself imitating Star Wars light saber maneuvers. The tape, which was never supposed to see the light of the day, wound up becoming one of the first star wars memes and receiving millions of views after being uploaded to Kazaa, initially as a fake clip from MTV’s Jackass. He never expected to be at the center of Internet drama.
Although many people admired him, and he found himself infiltrating pop culture as people petitioned to have him featured in Star Wars Episode III, put him in cameos in American Dad, Arrested Development and Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, and the subject of a campaign to buy him an iPod, others were put off by the video. His classmates made fun of him and strangers on the Internet mocked and occasionally threatened him to a point where he wound up leaving school and seeking psychiatric help.
The SWK kept quiet for years while attending McGill University until a wave of cyberbullying cases caused him to speak to Maclean’s magazine in his first interview in ten years. Where is the Star Wars Kid now? Let’s find out.

I read something around the time the video came out he wasn't even doing any Star Wars stuff. It was just general martial arts, and some fan just added the light sabre effects to the video to make it like Darth Maul.

As a western Canadian I love how you pronounced all of the French names and towns 😂 I went to a French immersion school from K to gr7 and took French in gr8 and gr9, and always hated it. I’m thankful now that I unintentionally obtained some French abilities, and I can tell you yes, your pronounciation is pretty mangled, but any Franco-dickhead would understand what you said. Just don’t talk like that in Ottawa or Quebec City if you don’t wanna get eggs thrown at you, or at least denied some frogs legs on a patio 🤘

oof. the french pronounciations arent good lol. his name also isnt pronounced like that guyz-lane, its giz-leh. the female version, Ghyslaine, is pronounced gizlen, like, well lets not mention that horrid woman's name. its good hes pursuing a law degree now and my gawd i havent heard of Kazaa in ages
