Dee Snider Is Being a Hypocrite About Twisted Sister
Dee Snider has a lot to say about bands touring without their original members—but does his latest stance make him a hypocrite?
In this video, we discuss Twisted Sister’s 2016 farewell tour, Dee’s past promises that the band would never return, and the surprising situation today as Twisted Sister hits the road without Dee Snider. We also talk about whether Dee keeps moving the goalposts to fit whatever position benefits him—and whether his latest rants could actually be helping generate interest in the Twisted Sister tour.
Is Dee Snider being hypocritical, or does he have a valid point? Let me know what YOU think in the comments!

It's a tough situation for sure. I can appreciate tribute bands, bands with only one original member, and bands that have a "legacy" member that contributed to their initial success and music. That being said, having random people that had absolutely noting to do with a bands albums or longevity and being there "in name only" out on tour is also what I would only consider a tribute band. I wish them all success if thay can do it.

It sounds horrible with Bach on vocals, that's not Twisted Sister.Like him or not without Dee they've got nothing.

MUSIC DIES IF YOU DO NOT ALLOW IT TO LIVE BEYOND YOU.
DID MOZART OR BEETHOVEN OR WAGNER SAY, "IF THERE ARE NO ORIGINAL ORCHESTRA MEMBERS FROM THE FIRST SERIES OF CONCERTS WE WROTE…. THEN THEY ARE FRAUDS OUT TO TAKE YOUR MONEY… THE ORCHESTRAS MUST HAVE THE COMPOSER DIRECT THE ORCHESTRA?
Sorry for the CAPS but seriously, I believe with that mindset, the music dies.
The composers above have their music played all over the world with special nights dedicated to them by orchestras.
Benny Goodman's band toured long after he died (I know they were around in the 80's not sure about now).
IF a band wants to lease their name and collects a royalty and sends out QUALITY, then the music stays alive.

The only band I think does a awesome job without original members is Lynyrd Skynyrd and they even for several years celebrate the original members and pay tribute to them and have put out several awesome albums of new music over the years . Those boys still Hit Grand Slams every night .

I can't believe the words Farewell tour/ retirement tour until bands actually do it. one last show thats it done and they just relax and enjoy the royalty checks i mean until AC/DC came back with Black ice i thought they were retired because there was nothing after Stiff upper lip they just enjoyed the royals from selling box sets and live concert dvds. and t shirts . If bands to a retirement tour that should be it retirement means you stop working and enjoy your golden years

Total money grabbing hypocrite. Constantly moving the gold post, to rewrite and serve his own narrative.
Some of you may not remember, but just a few short years ago, he was bitching about REPLACEMENT GUITAR PLAYERS in bands! This is a guy who just thinks what he has to say, is so relevant and important, and that YOU need to know what he thinks.
STFU already!

I think Dee has every right to say how he feels and I agree.
10 years between farewells with a new frontman is different than the Who (who started it) or Kiss or Crue who do the same farewell tour every couple years.

I also heard Dee say in some interview that his wife inherited millions of dollars from her mob family a few years ago. From a bunch of property they owned. So I think Dee is sitting pretty these days financially.

Why would Dee be getting paid for shows that he isn't performing in?
@robtaylor7424
September 7, 2026 at 11:25 pm
to be fair to Dee Snider he didn't go back out with Twisted Sister. because he said he can't do the performance that he needs to do. so give him credit for that and the band wanted to go out not Dee. plus you have Sebastian singing for Dee because Skid Row doesn't want him back. the whole music world is fucked and pathetic anymore.

People are getting sick of it and the bands bullshit. Im talking about the guests, fans that are overpaying for these knuckleheads for the 350th retirement time. Plus the touring is over saturated with all of them right now. Its too much…the blue dot thing is real and there's not alot of newer acts coming up either. In closing, the fans as well as bands are dying off. The tribute and cover bands are the future by 2030. No questions about it. That's why all these HEIST MEN AND WOMEN are doing this right now. Its almost over with.

Dee keeps going on about playing big festivals in front of tens of thousands of people, which they did, must've been great however they weren't all Twisted fans, they were just on the bill. They were never a big gig band, they did ok but they really were a club band.
