Start a micro garden and collect at least 15 gallons of water 🌧️ from your roof. Make a natural water filtration and boil water to purifier. Potatoes and beans, Cilantro, bell peppers, good place to start.

Don't think it matters everything is useless effort, energy and time wasted trying to prove a point.
$100,000 a year is not the same as $700,000 house you need to have a roof over your head, still 7+ years trying to reach that requirement

We wanted to sell our very small starter home and find something with more room, but under this current administration everything seems against US so we are staying put. Even with keeping debt at a minimum, feels like a losing battle. Those in power are making it unaffordable to live.

In British Columbia I pay $800 a month and then includes Wi-Fi and heat and hot water and electricity. And that’s Canadian dollars too so that’s probably like $750 American. I feel really bad for Americans. I’m shocked you guys have not risen against your tyranny government and I’m not joking.

Imagine what could be achieved if Congress devoted their time and effort to relieving and benefitting Americans as opposed to passing a resolution condemning socialism. Do nothing crooks.

It is rough out here. Our power just got cut off in the middle of a heat wave. I will have power again by the end of the week but I had to clean out my savings just to be able to make the payments. They say it gets bad before it gets better but how bad is it going to get?

Credit card companies write off unpaid debt at the end of the year & sells those debts at the same time. While raising the interest on my card to pay other people's unpaid debt & now I can't make my payments cause my interest went up….I remember awhile back when Congress or Senate had a hearing about credit card companies wanting to charge 10% interest on cards & our government said that was highway robbery , that CC companies should be called loan sharks , Mafia etc. Their charging upwards of 39% now. Guess it's okay now ?

My brother and I live together to share expenses. He is retired and I am on disability.
We can't keep up.
We've had to use a credit card to pay electric and we cannot catch it up.

@christianburke418
September 7, 2026 at 4:36 am
Yes, this is a math problem. The area where I grew up now has property taxes of 2.5 percent. That is $20,000 on an $800,000 home, plus $10,000 for heat and home insurance. If they also have a mortgage, then the numbers become really scary. Then you have millions that will never ever own a home. IF YOU HAVE A SECRET CABIN IN THE WOODS, CONCIDER YOURSELF LUCKY.

You mean….millions of Americans keep overspending. Everyone I know that is in debt because they buy expensive houses, cars, and food. They want to live the champagne life on a beer budget so they can impress people online. 🙄 I'm glad I was never a materialistic person.

One the greatest deceptive tactics ever pulled upon humanity: convincing them to have a scarcity mindset when the planet produces everything in abundance. In addition to, creating a monetary system of federal reserve notes to convince them that they “owe” some fictitious banking entity.

You should start a credit card business and start lending to people on an unsecured basis. I'd be curious what interest rate you would charge, and how long you'd stay in business.
