We as a whole ( Turtle Islanders) will not have the peace ( we need and had), pride ( what we once had truly), nor thrive as a whole, as long as we have the white man boot on our necks! A lot of us won’t heal either if we just assimilate instead of fighting back as our ancestors did. Pride came with death of protecting our culture. Assimilation maybe kept you alive a little longer but you died inside!
